A TRIBUTE TO PRAYING MOMS
Psalm 5
( esp.for the mothers at eldocoC)

Psalm 5 is David's prayer in trouble. But it also holds a mother's heart --- the worry, the waiting, the cries to God, for her children.

It's being said:
Nothing drives you to your
knees like motherhood.

Words of anxiety mark the first two verses of Psalm 5:
"Give ear..."
"Consider my sighings..."
"Give heed..."

My mom lived to the age of 82, and during her lifetime she saturated my life with prayer. When I couldn't pray, she prayed for me.
She laid the pieces of her life on the altar,
and among them...was me.

I am who I am today because of her prayers.

So Today, I am honouring her, and all mothers, grandmothers, foster mothers, and spiritual mothers by giving thanks to God for the unseen labour that holds families together.

I honour them for the nights they cried out to God when we were asleep,
For the prayers whispered over us before school, before surgery, before we left home.
For the faith that stood in the gap when ours failed.

A praying mom may not always see immediate answers. But like David, she brings her petition before the Lord morning after morning and waits expectantly.
Many of us are standing tall today because of a mother who refused to stop waiting on God for us.

To my mom, and to every woman who has prayed me through:
Thank you. Your prayers were
not wasted. They reached
heaven, and they reached me.

May the Lord continue to strengthen the hands that are lifted for us, and may we become people worthy of those prayers.
May God's blessings be on our mothers, always.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Touché...

So many Christians are out there judging the world but the moment you say something about issues in the church they go crazy on you.

Pretty sure that's backwards.

"I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with s*xually immoral people— not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is s*xually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people. What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.” - 1 Cor 5:9-13

Oh but you can't expel the big donor. You can't expel your key volunteer. You can't bring to light what so and so did because that will make the church look bad.

You know what makes the church look bad? Not calling out what everyone already knows...going along with it because you don't want to hurt your brand. People know and when they know you know but you don't do anything, it kills your credibility because it displays your lack of integrity. It exposes your hypocrisy because you teach Jesus and truth and all the rest but won't deal with the abusive "Christian" in your midst.

And even if everyone doesn't know it, you still need to speak up and do the right thing.

Last, when someone speaks up - support them! It may make you nervous. It may not be your favorite thing to do but don't allow people to abuse those who are doing the right thing because people will try to do that.

Reflections...Cyril Dunne.

Today marks one year since brother Cyril departed this life, yet his spirit remains deeply rooted in our hearts.
He was a man of quiet strength - power under control - always placing God, his wife, children, and others before himself. He didn't need the spotlight, his calm presence, steady character, and unwavering faith spoke volumes. He lived with humility and purpose, embodying a life of service, peace, and integrity.

His absence is deeply felt in the congregation at Eldos and by all who knew him. We miss his gentle wisdom, his quiet care, and the way he brought peace wherever he went. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the love he gave and the lives he touched.
Today, as we reflect on the life of brother Cyril, we see a heart that was fully surrendered to God.

GO TO CHURCH ANYWAY
If you're having s*x before marriage, go to church anyway.
If you are a drug addict trying to beat addiction, go to church anyway.
If you were out drunk all night the night before, go to church anyway.
If you aren't sure what gender you prefer, go to church anyway.
If you can't quit that disgusting habit, go to church anyway.
CHURCH is a HOSPITAL for the BROKEN, LOST, EMPTY, CONFUSED, DESPERATE, and REJECTED.
Every sinner has a future, and every saint has a past.
How do we break the chains of addiction and bo***ge?
By prayer...
Prayer for you.
Prayer with you!
There isn't a single person in the 4 walls of the church that doesn't have something they hate or regret about their past.
We've all made mistakes and will continue to,
BUT His Grace is enough.
There are things that I'd never want to admit out loud about myself, but God knows.
And He loves me nonetheless.
So whatever you've done, whatever you're doing,
whatever you will do...
it might just change your life if...
YOU GO TO CHURCH ANYWAY.

People don't miss WORSHIP because they live too far from the building.
They miss WORSHIP because they live too far from Christ....Amen!
You have to ask yourself where do I physically go Monday-Saturday?
And then on Sunday why aren't you attending Worship Service?
What will be your excuse on Judgement Day when God ask you?
