House of God Ministry tries to be of some comfort and help as many as are in need, even if it means driving around looking for someone to bless. This time around two dozen delicious packs containing: a sandwich, juice, fruit and a tea cake were handed out to those begging at the traffic lights and those digging in the bins looking for something to eat and even a stray dog that happened to be in the area at the time got a tasty sandwich to eat. A big thank you to our sponsors, volunteers and all those who make these efforts possible. May God reward you for your kindness.

Another blessed day of being a blessing. House of God family together with our generous sponsors undertook to feed around 70 people with delicious open fire cooked chicken biryani, salad and cold drink to start off the month of August. Those who received the welcomed meal were street vagrants, those living on the beach and all who heeded the invitation to come to the Empowerment Centre for a hot meal. Since we don't exclude anyone from being blessed, even a few ordinary citizens and workers from around the local Delta Road shopping centre were treated as well. Once again, our heartfelt thanks to all who contributed towards and volunteered to help with this project. We are ever grateful to those who help us to continue with our relief efforts. The Bible tells us that in the last days before Christ's return, many people will lose the ability to demonstrate love to each other. We see it happening right before our very eyes when people choose rather to hate and harm each other than to help. Therefore, there are but a few people who give of their time and resources to help those less fortunate than themselves. However, if we are to reflect the image of God, we have to choose to give such as we have, for love displays itself in giving to those who cannot give back. To extend a helping hand to someone else without expecting anything in return is what we are called to do. As part of House of God Ministry's outreach programs for the month of July Lynette and her family fed around sixteen less fortunate people with KFC meals and cold drinks. It is during these times that we are often able to pray for and encourage those in need. On this occasion, one woman in particular out begging with her daughter mentioned how tired she was of suffering. Lynette was able to share the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with her and give her hope.
This is exactly what Jesus did when He walked upon the earth and what He has instructed us to do until He returns. To share what we have with those in need around us and to help uplift our fellow man reflects a good, kind heart and is close to the heart of Christ.

_One of the ways in which the Lord has led us to make blessing people a normal way of life was to invite our church family to prayerfully seek God on whom to bless and in which way to be a blessing to them. They have the opportunity to then volunteer to lead such endeavours as they are able and we encourage the rest to partner with them. In this way, we have seen so many people blessed and the heartwarming sense of knowing that we’re doing good has become part of our church culture. For the month of June, Patricia in memory of her late husband decided to bless those in need with fresh loaves of bread and cartons of milk. The welcomed items were handed out from the Empowerment Centre as well as on the street to members of the community. These simple acts of kindness are blessings to both the receivers and to the givers who obey God’s word. FASTING - The Secret Reward

​"And your Father who sees in secret will reward you."
Matthew 6:18

Fasting is an intimate, private act of worship. You don’t need the applause of others or social media validation to make this count. God sees every quiet moment of discipline, every silent prayer and every time you choose Him over comfort. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, and your private devotion will yield public fruit. As you get closer to the end, the enemy may try to trip you up with irritability, impatience, or temptation to give up early. Guard your heart today. If you stumble or have a rough moment, don’t fall into temptation. Dust yourself off, claim Christ's peace, and keep pressing forward.

FASTING - Breaking Chains

​"Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free...?" — Isaiah 58:6

​Remind yourself why you are doing this. Fasting has immense spiritual power to break strongholds, dismantle bad habits, and bring breakthrough where you've felt stuck. Expect God to move. He is actively working to loosen the yokes of worry, fear or addiction in your life as you humble yourself before Him. Be expectant for great things.

FASTING

​As you fast today make it priority to Feed on the Word

"Jesus answered, 'It is written: "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4

Fasting isn't just "not eating", it’s exchanging physical food for spiritual food. If you take away food but don't fill that time with God, you’re just starving yourself. Today, whenever you would normally prepare or eat a meal, open your Bible instead. Let His promises satisfy your soul deeper than any physical meal ever could. Just as you need physical food to be healthy, so to you need spiritual food to be healthy.
