The word of God
By:Mr Letsoaka
Scripture:John 1 verse 13-14
John 1 verse 13
13.who were born, not of blood [natural conception], nor of the will of the flesh [physical impulse], nor of the will of man [that of a natural father], but of God [that is, a divine and supernatural birth—they are born of God—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified].
Meaning:
>Being God’s child isn’t inherited. You don’t get into God’s family just because your parents are Christian, or because you’re from a certain family/tribe.
>You can’t make yourself “born again” through willpower, good deeds, religious rituals, or human decisions.
>New birth is God’s work. It’s a supernatural, spiritual rebirth that God initiates.
>You can’t give birth to yourself. In the same way, you can’t make yourself a child of God. God does it when you receive Jesus. It’s grace, not effort.
>Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 1 verse 14
14. And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception).
Meaning:
The Word became flesh: “The Word” = Jesus.
He existed eternally with God and is God. At a point in history, He became human. God didn’t stay distant. He entered our world.
Dwelt among us: The Greek word means “pitched His tent” or “tabernacled.” It’s like God’s presence in the Old Testament tabernacle, but now in person through Jesus. Jesus lived among us, shared our joys, pain, and daily life.
We have seen His glory: The disciples saw Jesus’ glory — not flashy human glory, but God’s glory: His presence, grace, and truth breaking into the world. It’s the glory of the Father’s only Son.
Full of grace and truth: Jesus came bringing undeserved love/grace and the reality of who God is. No deception, no faking.
Importance:
Your relationship with God isn’t about trying harder. It starts with being born of God through faith in Jesus.
God came close. He didn’t stay far off. In Jesus, God lived with us, so we could know Him personally.
In Jesus you see God’s true character: full of grace and truth.
