Vandag tydens ons Oesfees het ons nie net die vrug van die land gevier nie, maar die vrug van omgee en saamstaan in ons gemeenskap. 🌾

Deur julle bydraes kon ons weer uitreik na diegene rondom ons – brood op tafels sit, hoop bring waar daar nood is, en wys dat die Kerk nie net ’n gebou is nie, maar ’n hart wat klop vir Kliptown en Eldorado Park.

“Laat ons nie moeg word om goed te doen nie, want op die regte tyd sal ons oes as ons nie verslap nie.” – Galasiërs 6:9
Dankie aan elkeen wat gegee, gebid en gehelp het. Hierdie oes is nie net kos nie – dit is liefde in aksie. 🙏

FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT

Candle of Hope – With Focus on Women and Children

As we light the Candle of Hope today, we do so with a deep awareness of the pain carried by women and children who suffer under violence, abuse, and fear. This flame stands as a declaration that their lives matter, that their cries are heard, and that God’s light shines even in the darkest corners of our communities. Hope does not ignore suffering, but it speaks boldly into it — reminding us that God is near to the broken-hearted, that injustice will not have the final word, and that healing and restoration are possible. As this candle burns, we commit ourselves to stand against all forms of violence, to protect the vulnerable, and to trust that Christ, the Light of the World, is already working to bring peace, safety, and dignity to every woman and child. Today we proclaim that hope is alive, and hope will lead us forward.

🎉 Celebrating 107 Years of Faith and Ministry 🎉

Grace and peace in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Today we rejoice as we mark 107 years of faithful ministry — a testimony to God’s unending love and mercy. Truly, as the theme from Lamentations 3:22–23 (ESV) reminds us:

> “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.”

This church has stood not only as a house of prayer but also as a place of learning, once doubling as the first Coloured school, producing academics, teachers, principals, clergy, and community leaders who continue to shape our nation. Only a few hundred metres from where the Freedom Charter was signed, Ebenezer has long been part of South Africa’s story of struggle, resilience, and hope.

To the people of Eldorado Park and Kliptown, may this celebration remind us that light still shines in the darkest places. Though our community faces the heavy burdens of gun violence, abuse of women and children, and brokenness, Ebenezer remains a beacon of hope — a place where God’s faithfulness is proclaimed, where lives are rebuilt, and where love overcomes despair.

As we step into the next chapter of ministry, may we continue to be a wellspring of courage, education, and faith, inspiring future generations to rise above adversity and to live in the power of Christ’s redeeming love.

Happy 107th Birthday, Kliptown Ebenezer Congregational Church! May the Lord who has brought us this far, carry us into an even greater tomorrow.

Gracious and faithful God, we thank You for 107 years of Your steadfast love poured out through this church. Strengthen its leaders, bless its members, and let Ebenezer remain a shining light in Kliptown and beyond. May Your mercies that are new every morning guide us into a future filled with hope, healing, and Your unfailing grace. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Today, we joyfully celebrate 107 years of ministry—107 years of God’s unshakable faithfulness. From humble beginnings to this present moment, our church has been a living testimony of His enduring love and grace.

We honor the legacy of those who came before us—the saints who prayed, served, gave, and believed. And we thank God for each of you, who continue the work with faith and dedication.

As Psalm 100:5 declares, “His faithfulness continues through all generations.” What a powerful truth to stand on as we look ahead. The same God who brought us this far will carry us forward.

Let’s celebrate with gratitude, serve with passion, and step into the future with faith.

Kliptown Inaugural Golf Day Report

The Kliptown Inaugural Golf Day was a memorable and successful event that brought together friends, partners, and supporters in the spirit of unity, sport, and giving.

The day was a great success in terms of participation, camaraderie, and the generosity shown by all who attended.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed — from the organizing committee to the participants, sponsors, donors and volunteers. Your commitment and support contributed in ensuring that the Church met it's financial target.

On behalf of the Rev Corin Maboeta and the council we say to the organizing committee, thank you once again for your hard work, contributions, and dedication. This was only the beginning, and with your continued support, the Kliptown Golf Day will grow into a tradition that uplifts and inspires our community for years to come.

KLIPTOWN CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENT

Today we give thanks for a blessed Sunday School Anniversary Service. The Rev Maboeta and the Church Council extends heartfelt gratitude to Sister Tanya for the inspiring Sunday School display, and to Pastor Jeff Stuurman for the powerful message. His word touched our hearts, reminding especially our vulnerable youngsters that the true refuge for all of life’s struggles is found at the Cross of Christ.
Pastor Jeff is no stranger to the work in community I is a driving force behind Outreach group.Mighty Men of God.

Next Sunday, we joyfully conclude our 107th Church Birthday Celebrations. We will be honored to welcome Rev. Bertram Swartz, General Secretary of the UCCSA (SA Synod), who will lead us in worship. The service will be enriched by the uplifting voices of the New Apostolic Church Choir and the Eldorado Park Community Choir.

We invite all members, families, and friends to join us in this momentous celebration.
