What is salvation in Jesus Christ -
According to the Bible, people need salvation because of sin and the consequences of sin. Without salvation, people are condemned to eternal separation from God in Hell.
Why do we need salvation?
Sin: Sin dishonor God, harms others, and damages us.
God's wrath: God is holy and just, and cannot allow sin to go unpunished.
Danger of hell: After death comes judgment, and without salvation, people will meet the same fate as those in hell.
Separation from God: Sin separates people from God, the source of life.
Power of sin: Sin exerts a power over people that they can't escape.
How does salvation come about?
Salvation is the restoration of life and a reconnection with God.
Salvation is a gift from God, and depends on God's grace.
Salvation comes through Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to bear the wrath of God for sinners.
Romans 3:23 HCSB
[23] For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 10:13 HCSB
[13] For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift
