The Human Spirit expresses itself through Thoughts and Imaginations, in a rudimentary sense this means we perceive imprints from the Spirit of God through our spirit man by thoughts and Imaginations. Likewise, the soul as well expresses itself through thoughts and Imaginations.
In Adam's case, prior to His fall, His soul was subservient to His Spirit, as such His experience was that thoughts from the Spirit of God would be expressed to His Spirit and thoughts from His soul would be in alignment with that in His spirit, this is why He was able to name the animals as God would.
However, after the fall, this is not our experience. Thoughts from the Soul tend to be more domineering than those from our spirit. However, the believer perceives thoughts and Imaginations from both his spirit and soul on a consistent basis, this is more prevalent in the place of prayer. Therefore, it becomes necessary for the believer to be trained on how to discern thoughts from his spirit man and that of his soul. This is what makes the scriptures most crucial, the scriptures are sharper than any two edged sword that pierce to the division of the soul and of the spirit.
An environment such as the camp, in my opinion, becomes necessary for a believer interested in growing, the camp places a strong emphasis on the word and on prayer, so as to create a platform where thoughts from the Spirit are not only intensified but also discerned. You cannot afford to miss camp, trust me..
