NEW HERE? 👋🏾
Walking into church for the first time can feel like arriving halfway through a story everyone else already knows.
So here’s what we wish you knew:
👉🏽 You don’t need to know the songs, own a Bible or understand every word we use. You can ask us. Seriously.
👉🏽 You don’t need to fix yourself before you come. Bring the questions, the mess & the parts of your life you’re still figuring out.
👉🏽 It may look like everyone already knows everyone. Keep coming. Family rarely feels like family on the first Sunday.
👉🏽 JoshGen can be expressive. People may raise their hands, pray out loud or share something they feel God is saying. You’re allowed to watch, learn & take it in without pretending.
👉🏽 Sunday is a good place to start, but community is where faces slowly become friendships. Give people the chance to know you.
👉🏽 You don’t need to take every next step at once. Baptism, community, serving & everything else can be walked through with people.
👉🏽 Church is full of imperfect people…including us. The point isn’t to find flawless people. It’s to follow Jesus together.
& Please tell someone you’re new.
We’d love to help church feel a little less unfamiliar.
Know someone who has been thinking about coming to church? Send this to them.
