Called to bear witness

On Sunday, 17 May 2026 the Rocklands District had crossed booking at every congregation in our working area, this formed part as our preparation for Pentecost. It was no different for us as Blue Horizon Congregation. Our divine service was conducted by Priest Sammy Sheldon and assisted by Priest Girswin Carolus both from Eisleben South Congregation.

As basis for the divine service the Bible text was taken from the book of Acts 1:8:
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Message:
Let us bear witness to Jesus Christ.

After the closing prayer and benediction, the choir concluded the divine service, after which the two visiting Priests took time to greet the members in attendance. Thereafter we could enjoy a beautiful thought provoking presentation about Pentecost. We now as a congregation and the world look forward to the feast of Pentecost this coming Sunday, 24 May 2026 at 10am from our Tafelsig Church, conducted by our dear Chief Apostle.

WITH CHRIST TO THE GOAL

On Thursday, 14 May 2026 we experienced the festive divine service of Ascension Day. The festive divine service was conducted by our Rector Priest Wade Samaai.

As basis for the divine service the Bible text was taken out of John 16:28
"I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father."

As is customary for a festive divine service a Bible reading was presented in which the text derived from Mark 16:14-19. The Bible reading was done by Sister Vanessa Freeks.

Message:
It is through Christ that we attain eternal fellowship with God.

After the closing prayer and benediction, the choir and congregation concluded the divine service with the joyful sound of Hymn Collection no. 165, The Lord is my light.
