SERIES LOADING: THE FALSE GOD'S OF EGYPT, IDOL WORSHIP AND CHRISTIAN HIGH PLACES.
The Bible refers to the god's of Egypt, particularly in the context of the Exodus narrative, where Yahweh (the God of Israel) demonstrates His supremacy over them through the ten plagues (Exodus 7–12).
In this episode I will explain the Egyptian god's commonly associated with the plagues in biblical scholarship, inferred from their prominence in Egyptian culture and the nature of the plagues.
I’ll explain why the Egyptians worshiped them based on their roles in Egyptian society and religion, drawing from historical context.
In PART 3 I zoom in on High Places built in the old testament. In the Bible, "high places" (Hebrew: bamot, singular bamah) refer to elevated sites used for religious worship, typically associated with the veneration of deities — both the God of Israel (Yahweh) and pagan god's like Baal, Asherah, or other Canaanite deities.
In PART 4 I explain High Places - the term High Places can be applied metaphorically to describe spiritual, cultural, or behavioral phenomena within today’s Christian communities that mirror the biblical high places of the old testament in their essence: anything that competes with or distracts from exclusive devotion to God can become a High Place.
