Our latest upgrade of the Automatic Bell Siphon Design for our Ebb and Flow Hydroponics Systems.

"What does a Siphon do?"

The Purpose of the siphon is to drain liquid from reservoir A to reservoir B, by the use of Gravity and Differential pressure. (That means reservoir A needs to be higher in placement or in pressure)

Hmmm....

"So why use it in a Hydroponics System?"

A siphon allows us to implement the Hydroponics technique know as Ebb and Flow (or Flood and Drain)
In short the system uses the siphon to regulate the nutrient enriched water level in Reservoir A. Once the water level rises to a specific water level, the siphon engages (exactly as draining petrol from a car into a bucket on the floor)
And water flows into reservoir B. From reservoir B water gets pumped back into A.

This creates a periodic motion of the water level rising and dropping. This creates a consistent watering of the plant roots but also gives your roots a chance to get air.
Add Light and it is time for your plants to THRIVE.
