Archdiocese of Cape Town Vocations

Archdiocese of Cape Town Vocations Discernment is a process of becoming aware of what’s in our hearts and minds, taking the next best step toward the call.

It involves asking the question: “What is it that God desires me to do with this life He has given me?”

Even though we begin celebrating Christmas tonight I still want to share this reel with you...it's never too late to prepare your hearts

“God calls each of us to a unique mission. This Advent, as we prepare our hearts for Christ’s coming, let us listen deeply to His voice. Could He be calling you to a life of service, love, and dedication? A vocation is not just a choice—it’s a response to God’s invitation. Pray. Reflect. Be open. Your ‘yes’ could change the world.”

Last time I .... God speaks in the little moments. One sentence, one conversation, can be a signpost pointing you toward your vocation. Take time to stop, reflect, and journal—because those whispers matter. What signpost has God given you lately? Share below!"VocationJourney

✨ What does God want you to do differently? ✨
Take time to sit with Jesus. 🕊️
Your vocation is a journey—don’t give up! 🌿
Slow down. Pray. Listen. He speaks in the silence. 🙏
💬 Question for you:
👉 If you could ask Jesus one thing today, what would it be? Drop it in the comments!

✨ “We are caretakers of each other because God first cares for us.” ✨
In a world that often feels divided, religious life reminds us of our call to love, serve, and protect one another. God watches over us, but He also invites us to be His hands and heart for others.
💡 Tip for Discernment: Ask yourself: How is God calling me to care for His people today?
🙏 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)

Vocations Discernment | Cape Town
It’s Friday… how does a priest unwind after a long week?
Not with Netflix or noise — but with prayer.
📖 He turns to the Psalms…
Ancient words, timeless peace.
In the quiet, he finds rest.
In prayer, he finds strength.
In God, he finds joy.

🕊️ Discernment isn’t just about choosing a path — it’s about learning to rest in the One who calls.

✨ Vocation discernment is a journey.
Not always straight. Not always clear.
But always guided by grace.

God places signs along the way —
a stirring in your heart,
a word that lingers,
a moment that moves you.

But sometimes, when we reach a signpost, we hesitate.
“Is this really from God?”
“What does this mean?”

That’s why we don’t walk alone.
A vocations team, a spiritual guide, a trusted mentor —
they help us read the signs with clarity and courage.

💬 Be open. Be prayerful. Be brave.
God is walking with you.
And we are too.

🕊️ Your vocation is a gift. Let it unfold.

✨ Ukuchonga ubizo ngumendo.
Awuhlali uthe ngqo. Awuhlali ucocekile.
Kodwa uhlala ukhokelelwa ngumsa.

UThixo ubeka imiqondiso endleleni —
ukuvakala kwentliziyo yakho,
igama elingashiyekiyo,
umzuzu okushukumisayo.

Kodwa ngamanye amaxesha, xa sifika kwindawo yokukhetha, siyathandabuza.
“Ngaba oku kuvela kuThixo?”
“Kuthetha ukuthini oku?”

Yiyo loo nto singahambi sodwa.
Iqela lobizo, umkhokeli wokomoya, okanye umntu omthembileyo —
basinceda sifunde imiqondiso ngokucacileyo nangobuganga.

💬 Vula intliziyo yakho. Thandaza. Yiba nesibindi.
UThixo uhamba nawe.
Kwaye nathi sikulungele ukuhamba nawe.

🕊️ Ubizo lwakho sisipho. Mvumela uThixo aluvule.
