OUR WINTER CLOTHING PROJECT FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS.

We served 55 children ranging from 2 till 18 years old; and 40 ladies ranging from 18 to 67 years old.

The favourite items for the children were the jackets, jeans, sandals and red pump shoes.

Our church in Cape Town is having a week long program for children in Bonteheuwel, Cape Town. Many of these children are left unattended during school holidays because their parents are working.

Bonteheuwel is known for its gang violence, drug abuse and lack of recreational facilities for young children. We decided to keep the children occupied with games and feed them one nutritious meal each day during the 2 week school holidays over the Easter period.

Many young children are unsupervised during school holidays in Cape Town townships like Bonteheuwel. We decided to have a full week of supervised games at our church to keep the children occupied and to create a festive and enjoyable atmosphere for young children.

Bonteheuwel has been plagued by gang violence and drug addiction amongst the youth and children are especially vulnerable during school holidays when parents are at work and when children are idle.

All children are served with lunch and a fruit juice in the afternoon. We hope to do this for the first five days of school holidays from Monday, April 3 to Friday, April 7, when our funding for the program will be depleted.

All donations are presently received from parents attending our church services.
