EASTER FRIDAY SERVICE:
*The Mystery of the Passover*
For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you. -- Ex. 12:23
The world may call it Easter. But to us Christians, we know that it is Passover.
But what is Passover?
Passover is a memorial, it is a celebration of our preservation. The Bible says we should have it as a lasting ordinance (Ex. 12:24), a continual remembrance of what He did for us.
In other words, we should find a tangible way to celebrate this day. And I thank God, we live in a country where this day is marked on the calendar year after year, bringing God's prophecy to pass.
You see there is the blood that marks the doorposts of our lives and where the blood is, the Lord will not allow the destroyer to enter. These are the people the enemy cannot touch. That night, the angel of death was moving but every house that was protected by the blood wasn't touched.
These are the mysteries we need to pass on to our children. We need to practice having communion before them so that they can learn the significance of it and keep it. Like the Bible says, “And it shall be, when your children say to you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’ — Ex. 12:26, we can point them to the Bible.
People of God, there is the blood that speaks for us. But you see, the Passover was a shadow of that which was to come. That spotless lamb signifies the Lamb of God that has redeemed us. Even to this day, when the angel of death comes, where there is the blood, God will not permit him to enter.
On that cross, the Lord Jesus Christ disarmed the enemy. He saw our destinies in the hands of the enemy and He redeemed them unto Himself.
The blood still speaks. The Lord wants us to continue to be conscious of His blood. The blood has cleansed us, it has purified us, and redeemed us. It has given us access to God.
The blood gives us victory over the enemy. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. — Rev. 12: 11
This means we have won before the battle even begins. That is why James says we should count it all joy when we go through divers tests because victory is already ours. — James 1:2
You see, we know that we were dead in our sins, but we also know that when He died, we died with Him and since He lives, indeed we live in Him (Rom.6:8). In Him we live, we move and have our very being. — Acts. 17:28. And because we are in Him, He has given us a promise that He will come back again and raise us, so that where He is, there we should be also(John 14:3).
“Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. — Rev. 12:10
The other name for the devil is accuser. The name satan, literally means accuser. But, when the salvation, the strength, and the power of God came, the enemy lost his hold over us. When we were in sin, the one who had the authority to accuse, could accuse us day and night. But after His death, the Lord Jesus Christ took the place of advocate and cast the enemy out.
When you were born again, power exchanged hands. You were translated from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of our God. — Col. 1:13
We know the revelation: Jesus died, Jesus rose and today He is seated at the Right Hand of Majesty on High. And through His blood, we have access to God.
Through the blood of Jesus, we are sanctified, so that we are acceptable before the Father. We are righteous, not in our own strength, but through His righteousness. Through His blood, we have eternal life.
We are God’s walking revelation. There is a testimony speaking in the spirit: You are born again, you are redeemed, sanctified, and have access to God.
“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” — 1 John 1:7
We are not just seating in the light, we are walking in the light. We move in the light and there is an edification that comes when we are in the light. His blood doesn't just cleanse us from sin. It washes us from all sin. For as long as we walk with Him, when we have fellowship with Him, the blood will continue to cleanse us from all sin. Whether it is sin from yesterday, tomorrow, today, or those that you have forgotten, our job is to continue to walk in the light as He is in the light.
The Bible doesn’t say you should condemn yourself. It is not your place to worry about your sins. There is a higher revelation. Your focus is to walk in the light. The more you walk in the light, then you are getting cleansed by the blood.
There are Christians who are afraid to approach God, but Christ has already given us access. When the Lord was supposed to show us wrath, the Lord Jesus
clothed us with His righteousness. So approach the Father, boldly. He is your Father. We are reconciled with God, not by our own ability. He didn't ask us for anything. Even to this day, He still says come as you are.
