Today, I listened to a woman from a small village outside Arusha, Tanzania, share how she finds encouragement from the Bible story of Cain and Abel. Over the past 43 days, we’ve heard many stories of inspiration and biblical reflections, but this one stood out—no one had ever used Cain and Abel as a source of encouragement. Intrigued, I asked her to explain what she learns from the story and how it encourages her. Though her interpretation might raise theological questions, her words left me speechless: "When I am in a crisis, I always search for the good in spite of the crisis, and then I offer that to God, as it is the best I have."

LIVINGSTONE: 3 - 9 August (self-drive) / 5 - 10 August (fly-in)

We are travelling from Pretoria to Burundi on our 72-day research trip in association with the University of Pretoria (Faculty of Theology and Missions). During our road trip, there are various opportunities for you to join the travel team for a few days and be part of the adventure to listen and learn from leaders and community members about how they experience crises, respond to them, and develop new innovative strategies.

Livingstone is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for you to join the team by either taking an adventure road trip through Botswana with a stayover at Elephant Sands and Kasane before crossing the border to Livingstone or taking a direct flight to Livingstone, where the team will welcome you at the airport. Either way, it is promised to be a memorable experience of exploring, learning, and growing in your understanding of how Africa and her diverse cultures respond to their unique crises.

ATTENTION TO ALL MY FRIENDS!!!

As you would know, my next three years will require a great deal of travel across sub-Saharan Africa for our research trip (https://ftlt.org/research/).
I'm in need of a bit of assistance on the transportation front. We're exploring the possibility of securing a vehicle sponsorship to support the project's logistics. Does anyone of you perhaps have a connection point with someone at VW or a dealership that sells the Ineos Grenadier? We're very interested in discussing how a partnership could be mutually beneficial, especially considering the exposure and impact the project is set to have.

Any possible connection would be helpful. You can WhatsApp me at +27 82 770 5310

Tnx

So I have been asked what this 3-year research project is in which I am involved.
Well, here it is in a nutshell: to listen, learn, and ask better questions with the purpose of growing in my knowledge of how the church in sub-Saharan Africa responds to global crises, its strategies, challenges, and impact.
Read more about it here:
