With profound sadness, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Tobias Daniel Champers, lovingly known as Toby, following a tragic drowning accident on the evening of Thursday, August 20, 2026. He was 8 years old.
Toby was deeply loved by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was filled with joy, curiosity, and a remarkable ability to notice the beauty and wonder in the world around him. His smile was unforgettable, and those who knew him know just how easily he could make others smile, too.
His name, Tobias, means “God is good.” Throughout his life, Toby was a beautiful reminder of that truth. Even in the midst of unimaginable grief and heartbreak, his loved ones continue to hold tightly to the faith, hope, and love that defined so much of his life.
As we mourn the loss of this precious boy, we invite everyone who loved Toby to join in remembering him, sharing stories, and surrounding his family with love and support.
A Celebration of Life honoring Toby will be held the weekend following Labor Day. Additional details will be shared as they become available.
