The timing was not accidental.

For 1,500 years — from the Exodus in Egypt to the 1st century — the Passover lamb was sacrificed at a specific time. Exodus 12 established the ritual. The lamb was to be slaughtered at twilight — the Hebrew phrase ben ha'arbayim, literally between the evenings. Jewish tradition interpreted this as the ninth hour of the day — 3pm.

Every year. On the 14th of Nisan. At 3pm. The Passover lamb.

Mark 15:34-37 records that Jesus cried out at the ninth hour — 3pm — and breathed His last.

At the exact moment Jesus died on the cross — 500 metres away in the Temple — the high priest was raising a knife over the throat of the Passover lamb.
The timing required no human coordination. The Passover date was set by the lunar calendar. The sacrifice time was set by Torah law. The crucifixion timeline was set by Roman military procedure — the governor's morning trial, the journey to Golgotha, the hours on the cross.
No human being arranged for these things to coincide. Each was independently determined by systems that had been running for centuries before that Friday afternoon.
And yet at the ninth hour on the 14th of Nisan — the Lamb of God and the Passover lamb died together.
John the Baptist had pointed at Jesus at the beginning of His ministry and said — behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
On Passover. At 3pm. He showed them what he meant.
Share this with someone who has never noticed the timing of the crucifixion.
