๐Ÿ”ฅ WHAT IF GOD IS NOT REMOVING THE FIRE BECAUSE HE IS REFINING YOU?

Sometimes we keep praying:

โ€œLord, take me out of this.โ€
โ€œLord, end this trial.โ€
โ€œLord, remove this pain.โ€
โ€œLord, change my situation.โ€

But what if God is doing something deeper?

What if He is changing YOU before He changes your circumstances?

The fire may reveal what comfort allowed you to hide.

It may expose the pride you refused to surrender.
The idols you placed before God.
The bitterness you carried for too long.
The love of the world that slowly pulled you away from Christ.
The self-reliance that made you forget your need for God.
The sin you kept excusing.

You may be asking:

โ€œLord, WHEN will this fire end?โ€

But perhaps heaven is asking:

โ€œWill you let Me use this fire to transform you?โ€

๐Ÿ“– โ€œBut he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.โ€ โ€” Job 23:10 KJV

The fire does not always mean God has abandoned you.

Sometimes, the fire is where God is refining your faith.

Gold is not purified by avoiding the fire.
It is purified by passing through it.

๐Ÿ“– โ€œThat the trial of your faith... being tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.โ€ โ€” 1 Peter 1:7 KJV

Your trial is not necessarily meaningless.

The pain may reveal what comfort concealed.
The pressure may expose what prosperity never could.
The waiting may teach you what instant answers never would.

You asked God to change your situation.

He may be using that situation to change your heart.

๐Ÿ“– โ€œMy son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, neither be weary of his correction.โ€ โ€” Proverbs 3:11 KJV

God loves us too much to leave us chained to the things that are destroying us.

Sometimes He has to expose it.
Sometimes He has to confront it.
Sometimes He has to strip it away.

And yesโ€ฆ sometimes it hurts.

But don't waste the lesson hidden inside the trial.

Instead of praying only:

โ€œGod, GET ME OUT OF THE FIRE!โ€

Try praying:

โ€œLord, SEARCH ME. Show me what needs to change. Remove whatever is keeping me from You.โ€

๐Ÿ“– โ€œSearch me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts.โ€ โ€” Psalm 139:23 KJV

The greatest tragedy is not simply going through the fire.

It is coming out of the fire unchanged.

James reminds us:

๐Ÿ“– โ€œKnowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.โ€ โ€” James 1:3 KJV

So if God is using this season to draw you closer to Him, don't run back to the very things He is trying to remove.

Repent.
Surrender.
Forgive.
Let go.
Seek Christ.
Cling to His Word.

Because this life was never promised to be completely comfortable.

We are being prepared for eternity.

๐Ÿ“– โ€œFor what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?โ€ โ€” Mark 8:36 KJV

๐Ÿ”ฅ LET GOD DO HIS WORK IN YOU.

Let Him burn away the pride.
Let Him tear down the idols.
Let Him expose the sin.
Let Him break the chains.
Let Him strengthen your faith.

Sometimes God doesn't immediately remove the fire because He is using the fire to remove what is destroying you.

And when you finally come through itโ€ฆ

May you not look like the person who entered the fire.

May you come out stronger.
More surrendered.
More faithful.
More dependent on God.
And closer to Jesus Christ than ever before.

DON'T WASTE THE FIRE.
LET GOD REFINE YOU. ๐Ÿ™

๐ŸŒฑ PAUL PLANTED, APOLLOS WATERED, BUT GOD GAVE THE INCREASE

Different Servants โ€ข Different Roles โ€ข One Divine Purpose

๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:6โ€“7 KJV
โ€œI have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.โ€

๐Ÿ“– INTRODUCTION โ€” THE MINISTRY BELONGS TO GOD, NOT TO THE MINISTER

One of the greatest dangers in Christian ministry is personality-centered Christianity.
The Corinthians were dividing themselves according to their favorite teachers:
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:4 KJV
โ€œFor while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos...โ€
Paul immediately corrected this attitude.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:5
โ€œWho then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed...โ€
Paul did not say:
โ€œI am the greatest preacher.โ€
Apollos was not presented as Paul's competitor.
Instead:
Paul planted.
Apollos watered.
God gave the increase.

From a Dispensational perspective, Paul has a distinctive apostolic and foundational ministry. Christ revealed to Paul the Gospel and Mystery truth associated with God's present Dispensation of Grace.
๐Ÿ“– Galatians 1:11โ€“12
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 3:1โ€“9
๐Ÿ“– Romans 11:13
Yet even with Paul's unique apostleship, Paul refused to take the glory that belongs to God.

This gives us five great principles of Grace ministry:
1๏ธโƒฃ PLANT THE GOSPEL
2๏ธโƒฃ PROVIDE SOUND DOCTRINE
3๏ธโƒฃ PARTICIPATE AS FELLOWLABOURERS
4๏ธโƒฃ PREVENT PERSONALITY WORSHIP
5๏ธโƒฃ PRAISE GOD FOR THE INCREASE

1๏ธโƒฃ ๐ŸŒฑ PLANT THE GOSPEL
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:6; 15:1โ€“4; Romans 15:20
Before there can be spiritual growth, the seed of the Gospel must first be planted.
Paul says:
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:6
โ€œI have planted...โ€
Paul's ministry established the Corinthian assembly through the preaching of Christ.

A. PREACH CHRIST'S CROSSWORK
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:3โ€“4
Paul declares:
โ€œChrist died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day...โ€
The church does not begin with entertainment.
It does not begin with religious traditions.
It begins with the Gospel of Christ.
The sinner must first hear what Christ accomplished.

B. PRESENT THE GOSPEL PLAINLY
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 2:1โ€“2
โ€œFor I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.โ€
The Gospel should not be buried beneath:
religious ceremonies,
philosophical arguments,
denominational traditions,
or human requirements.
In this Dispensation of Grace, salvation is:
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 2:8โ€“9
By grace.
Through faith.
Not of works.

C. PLACE FAITH IN CHRIST, NOT THE PREACHER
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 2:5
โ€œThat your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.โ€
Paul plantedโ€”but Paul could not save anybody.
The preacher delivers the message.
Christ accomplished salvation.
The sinner does not trust Paul.
The sinner does not trust the pastor.
The sinner trusts Jesus Christ and His finished crosswork.

๐Ÿ’ก Illustration: A farmer can put seed into the soil, but he cannot command life into the seed.
Likewise, we preach faithfully, but salvation is never produced by the charisma of the preacher.
๐Ÿ”ฅ OUR JOB IS TO PLANT THE GOSPELโ€”NOT TO TAKE THE PLACE OF THE SAVIOR.

2๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿ’ง PROVIDE SOUND DOCTRINE
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:6; Acts 18:24โ€“28; 1 Timothy 4:6
Paul planted.
Then:
โ€œApollos watered...โ€
Planting is not the end of ministry.
Believers who receive the Gospel must be established, instructed, and edified.

A. PROVIDE INSTRUCTION
๐Ÿ“– Acts 18:24
Apollos was:
โ€œ...an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures.โ€
He became an effective teacher.
Likewise, the local church should not produce believers who remain spiritual infants forever.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:1โ€“2
Paul desired growth and maturity.

B. PROTECT SOUND DOCTRINE
๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 4:6
โ€œ...nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine...โ€
The believer needs more than inspiration.
He needs doctrinal nourishment.
From the Dispensational perspective, believers need to understand:
the Gospel of Grace,
their identity in Christ,
the one Body,
the Mystery,
Grace rather than Law,
Paul's distinctive apostleship,
and the heavenly calling of the Body of Christ.

C. PERFECT THE SAINTS
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 4:12
โ€œFor the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:โ€
The goal of Bible teaching is not merely:
โ€œHow much Bible information do you know?โ€
The goal is established saints capable of doing the work of ministry.
๐Ÿ’ก The Gospel is like planting the seed.
Sound doctrine is like continually watering the plant.
๐Ÿ”ฅ EVANGELISM BRINGS PEOPLE TO THE MESSAGE OF SALVATION; EDIFICATION BUILDS SAVED PEOPLE IN SOUND DOCTRINE.

3๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿค PARTICIPATE AS FELLOWLABOURERS
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:8โ€“9; Philippians 1:5; 2 Timothy 2:2
Paul and Apollos were not supposed to be rivals.
They were workers participating in God's work.

A. PARTNERS, NOT COMPETITORS
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:8
โ€œNow he that planteth and he that watereth are one...โ€
They had different responsibilities but one purpose.
Ministry should never become:
โ€œMy church against your church.โ€
โ€œMy followers against your followers.โ€
โ€œMy ministry must become bigger than yours.โ€
The goal is not personal greatness.
The goal is God's work.

B. PARTICIPANTS WITH GOD
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:9
โ€œFor we are labourers together with God...โ€
What a privilege!
God allows saved people to participate in His work.
Some evangelize.
Some teach.
Some encourage.
Some give.
Some help.
Some disciple.
Different functions can contribute toward the same biblical purpose.

C. PASS THE TRUTH TO OTHERS
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:2
โ€œAnd the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.โ€
Notice the multiplication:
CHRIST โ†’ PAUL โ†’ TIMOTHY โ†’ FAITHFUL MEN โ†’ OTHERS ALSO
Sound doctrine is not supposed to stop with us.
We receive truth so we can faithfully transmit truth.
๐Ÿ”ฅ MINISTRY IS NOT ABOUT BUILDING OUR OWN NAMEโ€”IT IS ABOUT PASSING GOD'S TRUTH TO THE NEXT PERSON.

4๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿšซ PREVENT PERSONALITY WORSHIP
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 1:12โ€“13; 3:4โ€“7; 4:6
This is the immediate problem Paul was correcting in Corinth.
The Corinthians were forming factions around men.

A. PUT CHRIST ABOVE PERSONALITIES
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 1:12โ€“13
Some said:
โ€œI am of Paul.โ€
Others:
โ€œI of Apollos.โ€
Others:
โ€œI of Cephas.โ€
Paul responds:
โ€œIs Christ divided?โ€
Paul would not permit people to elevate him to Christ's position.

B. PREACHERS ARE SERVANTS
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:5
โ€œWho then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed...โ€
A pastor is a servant.
A teacher is a servant.
An evangelist is a servant.
Even an apostle was a servant.
Therefore, biblical ministry should never produce a culture where a leader becomes spiritually untouchable.

C. PRIDE MUST BE REJECTED
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 4:6
Paul warns:
โ€œ...that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.โ€
This applies powerfully today.
Do not boast:
โ€œOur preacher is better.โ€
โ€œOur ministry is bigger.โ€
โ€œOur church has more followers.โ€
Even knowing Right Division can become a source of fleshly pride if we forget Grace.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 8:1
โ€œKnowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.โ€
๐Ÿ”ฅ DON'T TURN THE SERVANT INTO THE SAVIOR, THE PASTOR INTO THE HEAD, OR THE MINISTRY INTO AN IDOL. CHRIST ALONE IS THE HEAD.

5๏ธโƒฃ ๐ŸŒพ PRAISE GOD FOR THE INCREASE
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:6โ€“7; 15:10; Colossians 2:19
Here is the climax:
โ€œBUT GOD GAVE THE INCREASE.โ€
Paul planted.
Apollos watered.
But neither could manufacture genuine spiritual life.

A. POWER BELONGS TO GOD
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:7
โ€œ...but God that giveth the increase.โ€
This destroys ministerial pride.
If people are savedโ€”
give God the glory.
If believers growโ€”
give God the glory.
If the ministry bears spiritual fruitโ€”
give God the glory.

B. PROGRESS COMES THROUGH GRACE
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:10
Paul says:
โ€œBut by the grace of God I am what I am...โ€
Then he explains that he laboured abundantly, yet says:
โ€œ...yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.โ€
Notice the balance.
Grace did not make Paul lazy.
Grace made Paul labor.
But after laboring, Paul still refused to boast.

C. PRAISE GOD, NOT NUMBERS
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:7
The true measure of ministry is not merely:
Facebook followers,
YouTube views,
church attendance,
building size,
offerings,
or public recognition.
Numbers can indicate reach, but numbers alone cannot measure spiritual faithfulness.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 4:2
โ€œMoreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.โ€
Our responsibility is faithfulness.
God determines the increase.

๐Ÿ’ก Illustration: The farmer plants carefully and waters faithfully. But after doing everything he can, he cannot pull the plant upward to make it grow faster.
He must depend upon God for what lies beyond his ability.
๐Ÿ”ฅ WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FAITHFUL LABOR; GOD IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INCREASE.

๐ŸŽฏ CONCLUSION โ€” DIFFERENT ROLES, ONE GOD, ONE PURPOSE

The picture in 1 Corinthians 3 is beautiful:
๐ŸŒฑ PAUL PLANTED.
๐Ÿ’ง APOLLOS WATERED.
๐ŸŒพ GOD GAVE THE INCREASE.
Paul's distinctive apostleship matters greatly in the Dispensational framework.
๐Ÿ“– Romans 11:13
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 3:1โ€“9
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:10
But Paul's unique ministry never gave him permission to steal God's glory.

Instead, Paul teaches us:
1๏ธโƒฃ ๐ŸŒฑ PLANT THE GOSPEL
Give sinners the clear Gospel of Grace.
2๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿ’ง PROVIDE SOUND DOCTRINE
Water believers through biblical instruction.
3๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿค PARTICIPATE AS FELLOWLABOURERS
Work together rather than competing.
4๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿšซ PREVENT PERSONALITY WORSHIP
Never exalt God's servant above God's Son.
5๏ธโƒฃ ๐ŸŒพ PRAISE GOD FOR THE INCREASE
Every genuine spiritual result ultimately points back to God.

๐Ÿ“ฃ CALL TO ACTION

1๏ธโƒฃ ๐ŸŒฑ PLANT FAITHFULLY
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 5:20
โ€œNow then we are ambassadors for Christ...โ€
Share the Gospel.
Do not wait until you have a pulpit.
Use your conversations.
Use your home.
Use your opportunities.
Use your online ministry.
But keep the message clear:
CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS, WAS BURIED, AND ROSE AGAIN.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:1โ€“4.

2๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿ’ง POUR INTO OTHERS
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:2
Do not merely accumulate Bible knowledge.
Teach somebody else.
Encourage another believer.
Help someone understand Right Division.
Establish your family in sound doctrine.
Pass the truth forward.
RECEIVE IT โ†’ LEARN IT โ†’ LIVE IT โ†’ TEACH IT.

3๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿ™Œ PRAISE GOD FOR RESULTS
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:7
When God uses your ministry, do not say:
โ€œLook what I built.โ€
Say:
โ€œLOOK WHAT GOD'S GRACE HAS DONE.โ€
When somebody believes because you shared the Gospel, rejoiceโ€”but remember you did not save that person.
When someone grows because you taught Scripture, rejoiceโ€”but remember you are only a servant.
The glory belongs to God.

๐Ÿ’ญ FINAL THOUGHTS โ€” FAITHFULNESS IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY; INCREASE BELONGS TO GOD

Never underestimate your part in ministry.
But never overestimate yourself either.
God may call one believer to plant.
Another may water.
Another may continue teaching what someone else began.
And sometimes you may never personally see the final fruit of your labor.
But that does not mean your labor was wasted.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:58
โ€œ...your labour is not in vain in the Lord.โ€

Remember:
1๏ธโƒฃ WE PLANT โ€” GOD PRODUCES.
2๏ธโƒฃ WE WATER โ€” GOD WORKS.
3๏ธโƒฃ WE PREACH โ€” GOD GETS THE PRAISE.
4๏ธโƒฃ WE LABOR โ€” GOD DESERVES THE GLORY.
5๏ธโƒฃ WE REMAIN FAITHFUL โ€” GOD GIVES THE INCREASE.

And this guards us from two dangerous extremes:
PRIDE when ministry grows.
and
DISCOURAGEMENT when growth seems slow.
Why?
Because the ministry was never ultimately ours.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:9
โ€œFor we are labourers together with God...โ€

๐ŸŒฑ PAUL PLANTED.
๐Ÿ’ง APOLLOS WATERED.
๐ŸŒพ BUT GOD GAVE THE INCREASE.
DIFFERENT SERVANTS.
DIFFERENT ASSIGNMENTS.
ONE GOSPEL PURPOSE.
AND ALL THE GLORY BELONGS TO GOD.
