🌟 Memorial of St. Philip Neri – May 26 🌟
St. Philip Neri (1515–1595), born in Florence and later living in Rome, was known for his spotless childhood, joyful spirit, and deep devotion to God. After years as a pilgrim and hermit, he was ordained a priest and founded the Congregation of the Oratory, gathering priests dedicated to prayer and service.
A man of original character and genial disposition, Philip became a great educator of youth, spending nights in prayer, fostering devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, and burning with love for all people. His life was marked by humility, joy, and unbounded charity. He died on the feast of Corpus Christi, leaving behind a legacy of holiness and joy in service.
Prayer:
O God, who raised up St. Philip Neri to bring joy to Your Church, grant that we may follow his example of humility, prayer, and love, and so draw others to Christ. Amen.
