𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗘𝗟 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗢 𝗥𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗢

‎Today, we celebrate the Feast of Señor Divino Rostro—the Holy Face of Jesus, a devotion deeply rooted in the history and spiritual life of the Bicolanos.
‎
‎The devotion to the Divino Rostro in Bicol began in 1882, when a cholera epidemic threatened Nueva Cáceres, now Naga City. Rev. Fr. Pedro de la Torre, a native of Osa de la Vega, Spain, remembered the devotion to the Holy Face in his hometown and brought a copy of the sacred image to the Cathedral. The faithful gathered in prayer, seeking the mercy and protection of the Lord.

‎At the same time, the people prayed for the intercession of 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗻̃𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮. This became the beginning of the beautiful tradition that brought together the devotion to Divino Rostro and Ina, a tradition that has continued for generations.

‎We continue to look upon the Holy Face of Jesus with the same faith of our forefathers, entrusting our families, our communities, the sick, and all our intentions to His loving mercy.

𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗩𝗜𝗥𝗚𝗜𝗡 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗬

Today, we joyfully celebrate the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the birth of Mary, the Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Her birth brought hope and joy to the world, for through her humble “yes” to God, she became the Mother of our Savior. In Mary, we see a life of faith, humility, obedience, and complete trust in God.

As we celebrate her birthday, may we learn from her example to always say yes to God’s will, to remain faithful in prayer, and to bring Christ’s love to those around us.

𝗢 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗻, 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝘀.

May the Blessed Virgin Mary continue to guide and protect us and lead us ever closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.

“Love That Seeks to Restore”

What would you do if the person who hurt you was someone you were called to love? In today's Gospel Jesus teaches us that when someone hurts or wrongs us, our response should not be anger, judgment, or rejection. Instead, He invites us to approach the person with love and seek reconciliation. Sometimes, it is easier to remain silent, walk away, or talk about the person than to face them with honesty and compassion. Yet Jesus calls us to have the courage to speak, listen, forgive, and understand. The goal of correction is not to win an argument but to win back a brother. Reconciliation requires humility not only to correct others, but also to recognize our own faults. As Christians, we are called to heal wounds, not deepen them. When we choose truth, forgiveness, and love, we allow Christ to restore what sin has broken.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus,
teach us to correct with love, forgive with humility, and seek reconciliation with courage. Heal the wounds in our relationships and help us choose love over anger and pride. May we become instruments of Your peace and healing.

𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁. 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁

Today, we joyfully commemorate 𝗦𝘁. 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁, 𝗣𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵, a faithful shepherd who devoted his life to serving God and His people.

Through his wisdom, humility, and love for the Church, St. Gregory became a great example of servant leadership. He reminded us that true greatness is found not in power or recognition, but in humble service to God and others.

May his example inspire us, especially those who serve in the Church, to remain faithful, humble, and generous in our vocation of service.

𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁. 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗼

Today, we joyfully commemorate 𝗦𝘁. 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗼, Bishop and Doctor of the Church, whose life reminds us that God’s grace can transform every heart that seeks Him.

After a long journey of searching, St. Augustine found true peace in God and dedicated the rest of his life to serving the Church, teaching the faith, and leading others closer to Christ.

𝗙𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿.

Today we celebrate the Memorial of Saint Monica, the patron saint of mothers, wives, and lost soulmates. Her life is a powerful reminder that no prayer is ever wasted and no heart is beyond the reach of God's grace. For nearly two decades, she wept and prayed relentlessly for the conversion of her son—who went on to become one of the greatest doctors of the Church, Saint Augustine.
