Memorial of The Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Prayer to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Prostrate at thy sacred feet,
O august Queen of Heaven,
I venerate thee with the most profound respect,
and I believe that thou art the daughter of the Eternal Father,
the Mother of His Divine Son,
and the Spouse of the Holy Ghost.

Full of grace and virtues and heavenly gifts,
thou art the purest temple of the most Holy Trinity,
thou art the treasury and dispenser of divine mercy.
Thy Immaculate Heart, full of charity, sweetness and tenderness,
has given thee the name of Mother of Divine Clemency.

Therefore, in my affliction
and agony I present myself with confidence before thee,
our most loving Mother,
and I pray thee to make me experience the love which thou bearest us;

Grant me (specify the favor)
if it be the Will of God and for the good of my soul.
Amen.

Solemnity of the The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

The Heart
When we hear the word “heart”, we think above all about affections, emotions, sentiments. It has a much broader meaning in biblical language. It indicates the entire person in his or her awareness, intelligence, freedom. The heart indicates the interior reality of the person, as well as our desire to think. It is the seat of memory, the centre where choices are made, projects come to fruition. Through his open side, Jesus shows us and says to us: “I am interested in you”, “I take your life to heart”. Likewise, he says: “Do this in memory of me”… take care of others with your heart. In other words, have the same sentiments as I do, make the same decisions I do, knowing how to be “meek and humble of heart”.

Prayer

Divine Heart of Jesus,
I offer you through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Mother of the Church,
in union with the Eucharistic Sacrifice,
my prayers, actions, joys and sufferings of this day
in reparation for sins and for the salvation of all people,
in the grace of the Holy Spirit for the glory of the Heavenly Father.
Amen.

Memorial of Saint Barnabas, apostle

As we honor this great apostolic bishop, ponder the impact his ministry has had over time. Although the number of converts during his lifetime might have only been in the hundreds or thousands, the effect those converts had on subsequent generations multiplied over and over again. Saint Barnabas traveled, preached, baptized, celebrated the sacraments, and founded many Christian communities. He endured rejection, hardship, violence, and martyrdom, but he pressed on. His fervor stemmed from knowing his Lord, not only through his firsthand witness of Jesus’ ministry but also through his life of prayer and his reception of the Holy Spirit. Try to see his mission as one similar to yours. You, too, are called to zealously preach the Gospel to others. Do not hesitate to do so, no matter the cost. Pray that God uses you as He wills, and offer yourself to His service in imitation of this holy Apostle.

Prayer: Saint Barnabas, you listened to the Gospel from the mouth of Christ Himself, witnessed His miracles, and allowed His saving message to transform your life. As a result, you spent the rest of your life preaching the Good News and saving many souls. Please pray for me, that I will follow your example and dedicate my life to the mission to which I am called. Saint Barnabas, pray for me. Jesus, I trust in You.

Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ

At the heart of this solemnity is the celebration of Christ’s constant presence here on earth, fully alive in the Eucharist. On Corpus Christ in 2022, Pope Francis reflected on the discreet yet powerful nature of the Eucharist accounted in the Gospels:

The miracle of the loaves and fish does not happen in a spectacular way, but almost discreetly, like the wedding at Cana — the bread increases as it passes from hand to hand. And as the crowd eats, they realize that Jesus is taking care of everything. This is the Lord present in the Eucharist. He calls us to be citizens of Heaven, but at the same time, he takes into account the journey we have to face here on earth. If I have hardly any bread in my sack, he knows and takes care of it himself.

Pope Francis
This is the true meaning of the Eucharist – that He is here, with us. As St. Thérèse of Lisieux once wrote in a letter to a friend, “Oh, my darling, think, then, that Jesus is there in the Tabernacle expressly for you, for you alone.”

Memorial of Saint Boniface, bishop and martyr

Prayer to St. Boniface

Dear St. Boniface, as a missionary and bishop,
you tirelessly worked to bring the message of Christ
to those who had not yet heard it.

We ask for your protection and guidance,
especially in times of difficulty and uncertainty.
Help us to stay true to our faith,
even when it is challenged or threatened,
and to trust in God's providence at all times.

St. Boniface, pray for us, that we may be
faithful disciples of Christ and bear witness
to his love and mercy in all that we do.

Amen.
