# # # # # **Steps for Azure DNS:**
1. **Login to Azure Portal:**
Go to [Azure Portal](https://portal.azure.com/) and log in to your account.

2. **Navigate to DNS Zones:**
- Search for **DNS Zones** in the top search bar and select it.
- If you don't have a DNS zone created yet, click **Create DNS Zone** and follow the steps to associate your custom domain.

3. **Select Your DNS Zone:**
Choose the DNS zone where your domain is hosted.

4. **Add a DNS Record:**
- Click **+ Record set** at the top of the DNS zone page.
- Fill out the necessary fields:
- **Name**: Enter the subdomain or leave it blank for the root domain (e.g., `www` or `@` for the root).
- **Type**: Choose **A** (for IPv4 address) or **AAAA** (for IPv6 address).
- **TTL**: Set the time-to-live in seconds (defaults to 3600 seconds, i.e., 1 hour).
- **IP Address**: Enter the IP address you want to map to this domain/subdomain.
- Click **OK** to save the record.

5. **Verify the Record:**
After adding the record, you can use tools like `nslookup` or online DNS checkers to verify that the DNS record is propagated correctly.

Namecheap provides DNS management for domains purchased through their platform.

1. **Login to Namecheap:**
Go to [Namecheap.com](https://www.namecheap.com/) and log in to your account.

2. **Go to Domain List:**
- On the dashboard, click on **Domain List** from the left-hand menu.
- Find the domain you want to modify, and click **Manage** next to it.

3. **Access Advanced DNS Settings:**
- Click on the **Advanced DNS** tab at the top of the page.

4. **Add a New A Record:**
- Scroll down to the **Host Records** section.
- Click **Add New Record**.
- **Type**: Choose **A Record** (for IPv4) or **AAAA Record** (for IPv6).
- **Host**: Enter the subdomain (e.g., `www`), or use `@` to apply the record to the root domain.
- **Value**: Enter the IP address you want to map.
- **TTL**: Set the TTL (you can leave it at the default value).

5. **Save the Record:**
- After entering the information, click the green **checkmark** button to save the record.
- The DNS changes can take up to 24–48 hours to propagate globally, though they usually update much faster.

6. **Verify DNS Propagation:**
- Use tools like [DNSChecker](https://dnschecker.org/) or the command line (`nslookup`, `dig`) to check if the DNS changes have propagated.

What does Azure DevOps provide?
Azure DevOps includes a range of services covering the complete development life cycle.

Azure Boards: agile planning work item tracking, visualization, and reporting tool.
Azure Pipelines: a language, platform, and cloud-agnostic CI/CD platform-supporting containers or Kubernetes.
Azure Repos: provides cloud-hosted private git repos.
Azure Artifacts: provides integrated package management with support for Maven, npm, Python, and NuGet package feeds from public or private sources.
Azure Test Plans: provides an integrated planned and exploratory testing solution.
Also, you can use Azure DevOps to orchestrate third-party tools.

What if we are not a Microsoft / Microsoft .NET organization?
Azure DevOps is not focused on organizations that are end-to-end Microsoft or Windows.

Azure DevOps provides a platform that is:

Flexible: you do not have to go 'all in' on Azure DevOps. It is possible to adopt each of the services independently and integrate them with your existing toolchain; most popular tools are supported.
Cross-Platform: designed to work with any platform (Linux, macOS, and Windows). Or language (including Node.js, Python, Java, PHP, Ruby, C/C++, .NET, Android, and iOS apps). Azure DevOps is not aimed at organizations building and shipping on the Microsoft technology stack.
Cloud Agnostic: continuous delivery is supported to AWS, GCP, and Azure.

What is DevOps?
Donovan-Brown defines DevOps as the union of people, process, and products to enable continuous delivery of value to our end users.

he was very deliberate in the terms used in this definition. he choose value over software. DevOps is not just automating a pipeline so we can quickly deliver software. Our goal is to deliver value. The term end users was also very carefully chosen. The value we produce must reach our end users. If the value only reaches the Dev and QA environments but is held up before reaching production where it can be realized by our end users, we are still failing.

It is very important to realize that DevOps is not a product. You cannot buy DevOps and install it. DevOps is not just automation or infrastructure as code. DevOps is people following a process enabled by products to deliver value to our end users.
