At a recent volunteer day, three individuals were connected and landed not just jobs, but careers through apprenticeship program.

One of these moments captured is a mother celebrating her son’s first day as he steps into his new career.

A ministry leader within our community has committed to match donations up to $10,000 through the end of the year.

Community Garden recap

This year, twelve volunteers transformed a vacant double lot into a community garden. Together they invested over 150 volunteer hours, grew 17 varieties of vegetables, and even tended a fruit-bearing apple tree.

Neighbors repeatedly showed their thanks for bringing beauty and new life to the block. Because of the garden, over twelve Gospel-centered conversations were opened up with community members and local businesses, and they also enjoyed the fresh produce.

What was once an unused space has become a living picture of what God does in a life, cultivating not just vegetables, but community, faith, and restoration.

Homeless Outreach @ Buffalo Convention Center with Phc Buffalo was a success. We had a chance to connect with over 50 Vendors and 500 people. The feedback we got was overwhelmingly positive with people saying what a unique way our organization serves with Christ at the center.

- We Need Your Prayers -

An incredible opportunity has been presented — a commercial building in a high-needs area is being offered to Align Western New York. This space would become a drop-in center where individuals facing physical, emotional, and practical needs can find real help — and, most importantly, have repeated opportunities to hear, see, and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This was the original vision that led to Align’s creation. We saw how the world had its own version of a place to meet urgent needs — but the most important part was missing: Christ.

We shared that vision and business plan with a church leadership group who came alongside us—providing their lawyer and covering the cost to establish our 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Now, it seems God may be opening the door to finally bring that original vision to life.

This drop-in center would not just be a place of help, but a place of hope, where Christian’s can come together in a shared space to serve “the least of these” and become a tangible representation of Christ in vulnerable neighborhoods in our region.

We’re thankful to everyone who helped transform an empty lot into a community garden—creating a space to share the love of God with our neighbors.

During our last time serving, a neighbor asked, “Are you a pastor or a priest?”Our response: “a servant.”

With tears in their eyes, they opened up and shared what they were going through. God used that space, and our small act of obedience, to begin ministering to the community in a powerful way.

Thankful for the hearts of those who came out to be part of the garden prep and cleanup!

We met a few neighbors—one of whom said she wanted to help and even has seeds to contribute.

She also opened up about how anxiety sometimes gets the best of her. We had the opportunity to minister to her, and afterward she said, “That’s exactly what I needed to hear.” She shared that she’s going to be more intentional about reading her Bible regularly.

Philippians 4:6–7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Align Western New York is excited to kick off a Community Garden Project as a way to engage with our neighbors and create space for connection, growth, and encouragement to point others to Christ and His Church.

Join us on Saturday, May 24th at 9:00 AM
Location: 19th Street, near Niagara St.

We’ll spend a few hours together preparing the space and building something beautiful for the community.

Bring your outdoor tools (rakes, shovels, w**d wacker, hedge, trimmer, wheelbarrow, leaf blower, gloves, etc.) and a push mower if you have one!

This is a great opportunity to serve, meet others, and help lay the foundation for something that will bless the neighborhood all season long.
