Under the Transitional Justice projects funded by UNDP South Sudan and UN Peace building Funds, Vision for Humanity successfully brought 120 survivors together from Mangaten IDP Camp for a powerful dialogue session focused on truth, dignity, and justice.

The session was witnessed by the Chairperson of the Survivors’ Network in South Sudan, Ms. John Malala, who strongly emphasized the importance of documenting survivors’ stories and strengthening their capacity for self-representation before the CTRH and CRA Commissions. She also reaffirmed the mandate of the CTRH Bill to protect survivor witnesses during testimony periods, encouraging survivors to speak up without fear.

“I encourage women survivors to remain strong and to trust the process of establishing the CTRH and CRA Commissions. As a parliamentary committee, our mandate is to strive for peace, healing, and reconciliation among the people of South Sudan.”
— Hon. Rebecca Aluel, Deputy Chairperson, Specialized Committee on Peace and Reconciliation, Transitional National Legislative Assembly.

At Vision for Humanity, we remain committed to standing with survivors, amplifying their voices, and supporting inclusive transitional justice processes that promote accountability, healing, and lasting peace. Skills That Heal: Empowering Survivors Through Livelihood Training in Mangaten

Today in Mangaten, with generous support from the Fund and , Vision for Humanity South Sudan introduced additional livelihood skills on breadmaking and hair dressing.

This skill will benefit 100 women and girls survivors of Conflict related sexual violence (CRSV), with 70 women targeted for training on breadmaking skills and 30 young girls (20 years below) on hair dressing skills.

This approach responds to the goals of the Commission for truth healing and reconciliation and the compensation and reparation authority by guaranteeing survivors the opportunity for economic recovery, regaining dignity, reducing vulnerability, fostering reconciliation and embracing longlasting peace in SouthSudan, where conflict has devastated livelihoods, skills like VTS, agriculture or entrepreneurship.

We embrace the incorporation of livelihood skills in to achieve resilience, healing & justice among survivors of conflict.
