When we talk about celebrating Easter, we aren’t just talking about the meal with family, baskets of candy and hunting for eggs. Yes, those things are fun, but we are talking who we celebrate and why we celebrate Him.

Jesus took on the most painful death, a death he did not deserve to give us, his creation, a gift we didn’t deserve and could never earn. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Yes, that includes you, so that 2,000 years later, you could decide to believe in Him and have everlasting life.

We know that when we find our lives at a dark and dead end, we know that Jesus has already been there and has made another way for us. It doesn’t have to end there.

The same power that defeated death, rose from the grave, and made a way for us is alive and at work today!

So today, and every day we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Why does it matter? Because it changes everything!

You can trust that God knows and cares about every detail of your life.

He’s been with you from the start and will be with you always.

His love endures forever.

In case you have not heard this yet, you are seen and loved by God.

Not only is God’s love inspirational but God’s love is powerful. He can and does use His power to transform people.

John 3:16 says that God loved the world so much that he sent his only son (Jesus) to die for us and whoever believes will not die, but have everlasting life.

Jesus came to earth to take on the consequences of everything we ever did wrong so that we could have a relationship with Him! This type of love is sacrificial and life-changing.

But let's be real... none of us are perfect. Even Christians. As you live into your faith more, the inward change will, over time, start to make a difference in outward behavior.

The more you get to know God and his characteristics, the more you take those on.

Being loved and forgiven by God also motivates you to extend this love and kindness to others.

In this episode, we talk about justice, what it is, how we see it through our Christian lens, and we might mention a little Taylor Swift as well... We invite you to Join our community and discover a new way to connect with others and grow in your faith.

Share your thoughts in the comments on this:
- What do you think of Augustine's quote, "When we sin, we have our loves out of order" and how does this impact how you live?
- As you grow in your faith, what are you doing to live that out?
- Think about the order that you have your love in. Is it in the order you want it to stay in?
- What forms of justice have you encountered? Do you wish the situation had played out differently?

What does it mean to you when you hear the word rejoice?

Some might think it is a state of constant happiness and being able to celebrate every single moment of your life.

There is a huge difference in happiness and joy.

Happiness is an emotion based on circumstances. If everything in life is good with your job, health and family... you'll be happy.

But life isn't always easy... There are bumps along the way, some bigger and tougher than others.

Joy is not rooted in anything of this world, but in our eternal relationship with God. This means that, not if, but when we hear bad news, we are able to find joy in the midst of sadness and pain because God is still working.

As Christians, even in the darkest of times, we know where our joy is rooted in.

We can find a reason to rejoice because God is not fleeting.

He will not abandon us in the midst of the storms of life.

He provides peace and hope for all. He gives us a reason to rejoice.
