Freedom & Serving are 2 Deep Theological concepts sometimes set aside by the world we live in.

First, freedom can be interpreted as that which makes me happy and gives me what I want. Do you hear the selfish cry in this line of thinking?
Second, serving can be interpreted as someone needs to serve me. Serving others takes away from my time. Again, do your hear the selfish cry?

Freedom through Christ literally frees us up from everything that entangled us to this world. When we are free in Christ, we want to serve, help and bless others. This is because we are no longer focused on ourselves only.

The Apostle Paul reminds us that the freedom we have in Christ is not for us to keep serving ourselves. We have been transformed and need to make the switch from us being the center of everything to God and His will being central in our lives. And that includes using our freedom to serve others!

Friends we have an opportunity to bless Diana Johnston and their family. Last week, her dear husband Bill passed away from a long journey battling cancer. Bill was an incredible husband, father and friend to numerous people. His loving spirit was the hallmark of his life.

One way we can further help the family is to raise money for Bill's Memorial Headstone. At this point costs may run from $1,000 - $3,000. More details will be determined soon. So how do we share deeper truths with our children & youth? Another great resource is The Bible Project. The two founders have taken their Theological training and created short animated stories from the Bible to help us better understand the intended meaning & life application. We have used them for some time in our family devotions. The teaching is very solid biblically. Here is one about Palm Sunday.
