Welcome & Installation Service

For nearly 140 years, The Salvation Army has faithfully served the people of Yuba and Sutter Counties through the ministry of dedicated officers, soldiers, volunteers, employees, donors, and community partners.

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, we invite you, our community, to join us for a special Installation Service as Captains Juan & Mony Oregel become the 96th Corps Officers of The Salvation Army Yuba-Sutter.

During this sacred occasion, officers from Divisional Headquarters will formally install the Oregels into their new appointment. As part of the service, Captains Juan & Mony will publicly affirm their commitment to lead the congregation and wider community in the mission of winning people to Jesus Christ, growing disciples for the Kingdom of God, and caring for suffering humanity throughout Yuba and Sutter Counties.

The Oregels arrive following seven years of faithful ministry in Stockton, California, and are excited to continue the long-standing work of The Salvation Army in their new community. As they assume the mantle of leadership they become part of a rich legacy of ministry that has touched countless lives across generations.

We invite our church family, volunteers, donors, community partners, program participants, and friends to join us as we celebrate this important milestone and warmly welcome the Oregel family to Yuba-Sutter.

Friday morning's, families in our community arrive carrying more than empty grocery bags or small carts.

Many are carrying stress. Uncertainty. Financial pressure. Fear about how they will make it through another week.

Beginning July 10th, The Salvation Army Yuba Sutter’s Fresh Friday Client Choice Pantry will once again return to a weekly schedule - while funding remains available - and we are looking for compassionate volunteers willing to stand beside our neighbors in their time of need.

Fresh Fridays is more than food distribution. It is a place where families are treated with dignity, kindness, and care. A place where parents can choose food for their household and know they are not alone.

We are currently seeking:

- Individual Volunteers
- Church Groups
- Businesses & Community Teams
- Youth & Service Organizations

🕣 Volunteer Hours: Fridays from 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM
📍 The Salvation Army Yuba Sutter

Volunteer roles may include:

- Welcoming guests
- Helping stock food
- Assisting families through the pantry
- Loading groceries
- Offering encouragement and hospitality

Sometimes the most meaningful ministry is simply showing up.

If you have ever wanted to make a tangible difference in the lives of local families, this is an opportunity to serve with purpose and compassion.

To volunteer or learn more, send us a Facebook message or contact our office today.

Together, we can continue feeding hope - one family, one Friday, one act of kindness at a time.

Another exciting transformation is underway in Yuba-Sutter!

Thanks to a capital grant through CalAIM PATH CITED Round 3, The Salvation Army Yuba Sutter is renovating our former pantry space at 401 Del Norte Avenue in Yuba City into a new hub for nutrition-focused health programming and community learning.

Construction is now underway, with an anticipated opening in mid-July 2026.

The renovated facility will include a commercial kitchen, walk-in refrigeration, and a dedicated community learning space - all designed to support and expand critical nutrition and wellness programming within our community.

Once completed, the site will serve as the home base for our:

• Medically Tailored Meals (MTM) Program
• Medically Tailored Groceries (MTG) Program
• Nutrition Education Services

Meals prepared through our Medically Tailored Meals program will continue to be delivered to preselected sites throughout Yuba-Sutter, helping ensure individuals receive healthy, medically supportive meals where they already access services and support.

The new community learning space will also be available for community partners and groups during select after-business hours, creating additional opportunities for education, collaboration, and community engagement.

We are grateful for the support provided through CalAIM PATH CITED Round 3 and excited about the long-term impact this investment will have on community health, nutrition access, and whole-person care throughout Yuba-Sutter.

More updates and opening details will be shared soon!

Big things are happening at 410 J Street in Marysville!

The Salvation Army Yuba Sutter is excited to officially announce the transformation of our former Depot Family Crisis Center Administrative Offices into a new Family Services Center — made possible through the generous support of a capital grant from Partnership HealthPlan of California.

Construction is now underway, with an anticipated opening in mid-July 2026.

Once completed, the Family Services Center will serve as a hub of hope and practical support for our community by offering:

• Navigation Assistance
• Homelessness Prevention Assistance
• Housing Tenancy Support
• Emergency Food Boxes
• Enhanced Care Management (ECM)
• A Community Conference Room for collaboration and service coordination

We are deeply grateful to Partnership HealthPlan of California for investing in the wellbeing of Yuba-Sutter families and helping make this vision a reality.

This project represents more than a building remodel, it represents a continued commitment to walking alongside individuals and families with dignity, compassion, and practical support.

Please keep this project in your prayers as construction continues over the coming weeks. We look forward to welcoming the community into this new space very soon.

Friends, we are saddened to share that sometime during the night of 05/17/26, thieves cut through our property fence and stole the catalytic converters from both The Salvation Army Yuba Sutter box truck and our 25-passenger bus.

These are not just vehicles to us — they are tools for ministry.

Our box truck is essential for transporting large quantities of food for our food pantry and Fresh Fridays outreach, helping us serve families throughout the Yuba-Sutter community. Our bus helps transport youth to music programs, Teen Night, summer camp, and other activities that provide encouragement, mentorship, and hope.

The operational loss of these two vehicles significantly impacts our ability to serve our community.

While this situation is deeply discouraging, our commitment to ministry remains unchanged. We are currently working through insurance and assessing next steps.

We would greatly appreciate your prayers for our ministry, staff, and the families and youth impacted by this loss. If anyone witnessed suspicious activity or has information related to this incident, please contact the Marysville Police Department.

Thank you for continuing to stand with The Salvation Army Yuba Sutter as we serve others with compassion, dignity, and hope.
