We’re so excited about our Pathway Youth missions giving initiative! We are giving to the Macha Mission Hospital Clean Water Project through Brethren In Christ World Missions. Macha Mission Hospital was planted in 1957 by BIC Missionaries, and has helped to transform the quality of life for many people in southeastern Zambia. It has helped to greatly reduce diseases like neonatal tetanus, leprosy, schistosomiasis, trachoma, and malaria; through its health programs, AIDS is no longer a fatal disease in the region. Each year, the hospital serves more than 30,000 patients. Through its Christian outreach, many patients also come to faith during their stay at the hospital. Yet, this incredible ministry faces incredible challenges. Water is essential for life. But in Zambia, water is scarce. Lack of clean water is the largest obstacle for Macha Mission Hospital in providing care. As we raise money, our giving will immediately benefit projects like digging wells, improving pipelines, and building storage tanks for clean water used for the hospital.
We are putting our hands to work, and we’re also praying fervently that God would multiply our giving, and expand the valuable work taking place at Macha Mission Hospital. Generosity combined with passionate prayer is a powerful combination! We know our work will make a tangible difference in the mission of God, and it will truly mark us as we are each challenged through this practice of generosity!
