Catharine Greene Chapter, NSDAR

Catharine Greene Chapter, NSDAR The DAR is a nonprofit, nonpolitical women’s volunteer service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism.

Do you have a Revolutionary patriot in your family tree? Membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) honors and preserves the legacy of your patriot ancestor. Over two hundred years ago American patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. As a member of DAR, through participation in the Society's various programs and activities, you can continue this legacy by

actively supporting historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavors. Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to join the DAR, regardless of race, creed, religion or country of origin. Our 170,000 members are located in 3,000 chapters across the country and around the world. Our mission is to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism in our communities through the programs and projects of the National and State Societies. Our members are a multifaceted group of women of all ages who are dedicated to perpetuating the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence. During the year we offer a variety of programs and speakers who enrich our knowledge and perspectives. If you have any questions please let me know. I am looking forward to working with you. On Saturday, August 2nd the chapter celebrated the Bellbrook Historical Museum 200th Anniversary with a marking. Guests included Michael Schweller, Mayor of Bellbrook and Allison Gibbs, Museum Director. Special thanks to Matt Morrison at Morrison Monuments for donating the marker.

Following the marking, chapter members spent the day spreading the word about the chapter and how we enjoy genealogy, volunteering, and field trips.

We have two fantastic sponsors for our Community Meal this Wednesday! The Catharine Greene Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution are sponsoring for the first time. Also, we always love when Xenia United Presbyterian Church sponsors and volunteers to serve the meal, which will be a delicious chicken stir-fry with veggies and rice, pineapple and dessert. Join us from 5-7 PM!
