🕋Fasting in Shawwal🕋
🌙Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari رضي الله عنه reported that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
“Whoever fasts Ramadan and then follows it with six days from Shawwal, it will be as if he fasted for the entire year. “
[Muslim]
🌙This is because the reward of a good deed is multiplied tenfold. So fasting in Ramadan is like fasting for 10 months, and fasting 6 days in Shawwal is like fasting for 60 days (two months). When added, they equal 12 months.
🌙Fasting in Shawwal is like praying the Sunnah prayers before and after the obligatory prayers, thus making up for whatever mistakes and shortcomings that occurred in the obligatory fast of Ramadan.
🌙Fasting in Shawwal gets you accustomed to fasting after Ramadan and is a sign of the acceptance of the fasting of Ramadan.
🌙When Allah accepts the good deed of a person, He guides him to perform another good deed after it.
🌙Alhamdulillah we fasted the entire month of Ramadan.
🌙Now, if we add to that 6 days in Shawwal, we can get the reward of fasting for the entire year.
🌙The 6 days of Shawwal can be done consecutively, or spread throughout the entire month, either way is permissible.
🌙The only day you cannot fast in Shawwal is the day of Eid, it is forbidden to fast on the day of Eid.
🌙If you missed some days from Ramadan, make up those days first before you fast for Shawwal (this is the best way).
🌙If you don’t have enough days remaining in Shawwal to do that, then you can do your Shawwal fasts before the month of Shawwal ends.
🌙Then, after Shawwal, you can finish making up your days from Ramadan.
🌙You must make up your missed days from Ramadan before the next Ramadan arrives.
🕋Keep the momentum from Ramadan going.
