We’re grateful for another Sunday spent worshiping together!

This weekend, we had the privilege of meeting our 2026-2027 Pastoral Residents! Please be praying for these three men, Ernie, Brendan, and Jonah, as they continue in their studies and hands-on ministry experience.

We also received an update from our GCC Global Partner in Guatemala, Carissa Shearer. We look forward to the upcoming medical missions trip to Guatemala to serve alongside her!

Pastor Mike continued in our series, "Who Do You Say Jesus Is?", diving into Mark 6:14-29. We see here in these verses the bitterness the accompanies unrepentant sin. God loves us too much to leave us comfortable in something that is hurting us. The sting of conviction is an invitation in love and kindness, an invitation to turn toward Him and receive forgiveness!

Approximately 388 million Christians face high levels of persecution and discrimination world wide (opendoors.org). That is 1 in 7 Christians! What drives deep-seated hatred and deadly violence against Christians in the world? What fuels the world’s opposition to the faith we hold dear? To help us answer that question this weekend, we are going to study THE OFFENSIVE NATURE OF GOD’S WORD. This was not my choice for this weekend’s sermon; it was God’s choice because it is the key theme in the next story in our study in the Gospel of Mark – Mark 6:14-30. I look forward to digging deep into God’s Word on Saturday and Sunday.

We are so grateful for another weekend together!

We had the joy of welcoming and interviewing Yoriyoshi and Emiko Abe, our global partners from Japan! Yoriyoshi is the lead pastor of Grace Garden Church, our sister church in Ebina. Please pray with us and the Abes for their ministry, the harvest in Japan, and that the Lord would continue to equip workers to be sent to share the Gospel!

This weekend, Pastor Paul dove into Mark 6:1-13. In this portion of Mark, we see that Jesus is rejected in His hometown because they are offended. Offended by His words, His upbringing and status, His authority. Mark's warning to us is to not make the same mistake as Jesus' hometown in our own hearts, but to embrace Him as Lord!

Live in a way that makes Jesus attractive to your friends and neighbors because He loves them more than we could possibly imagine!

Join us this weekend as we explore Mark 6:1-13, where Jesus' own hometown takes offense at him and his message. We'll reflect on what it means to encounter rejection and scandal for the sake of the Gospel—both for Jesus and his followers. Come and discover how this powerful passage challenges us to respond to the "offense" of Christ in our own lives.
