Jesus never promised a life of ease…

He promised you would be persecuted, reviled, and hated (matt 5:10-12, 10:22, 24:9), He said you will go through tribulation and trouble (john 16:33)!

Not that it was needed but Paul fiercely backed Jesus Word by saying “Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ will be persecuted” (2 Timothy 3:12)

This is a far cry from the good news messages I so predominantly hear today… trying to live your best life now may have you missing the mark altogether and not be in your long term best interest!

The Bible has all the answers… PERIOD, END OF STORY!

The church is led by flawed human beings who make lots of mistakes. I am not advocating for leaving the church but embracing it with the mindset that you are responsible for every word that goes into your heart and is allowed to stay there regardless of where, how or who provided the information.

Seriously… are you “testing” the information received? Romans 12:2 states: “do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by TESTING you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Are you testing the sermon you heard? Are you taking the thoughts captive, lining them up with scripture and discerning for yourself what is the will of God?

If not, believe me you are not alone… most people hear a message and just believe what they hear because that’s the easiest thing to do. It takes work, discipline, responsibility and lots of time to go back into the Word and verify each word to determine whether or not it’s worth keeping.

But because Jesus said: “See that no one leads you astray” which puts the responsibility on you and makes all the extra work and effort worth it!!!

I believe that “dominion” and “subdue” and all the things God built into man originally is what has the power to keep evil at bay. God knew evil was coming for man from the beginning which is why He gave him the ability to say no, to resist evil, and live a life far above the devils deceptive shenanigans.

She said to herself... If I could just touch His clothes... I know, I will be made whole” (Matt 9:21)

Do you “KNOW” God will make you whole or at this point is it a fleeting hope, a want, or maybe it’s a religious “if it’s His will” condition 🤷‍♂️

Do you seek him first... would you push through a crowd with childlike faith after being sick for 18 years or you lying in defeat and discouragement? Would you break the law regardless of the consequences in order to get to Him? Are you trying to grasp hold of Him with all you got?

Let’s go!!!!

David: “who is this uncircumcised philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God. Let us go up at once and possess the land, for we are well able”

Goliath: “am I a dog that you come to me with a stick?”

David was like: “you come at me and I will strike you down and cut your head off”

Now get this, at that moment David didn’t even have a pocket knife let alone something big enough to cut that big dudes head clean off but through vision and his God given imagination he saw himself victorious before it happened and it says “he ran toward the giant philistine”

The great falling away... I’m about to explain how it happens to the best of us.

The Bible is clear in a Matthew 23:11-13 that “false prophets will arise and lead many astray, and because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold, but the one who endures to the end will be saved.”

You see it’s a subtle domino affect...

1️⃣ false preachers/teachers who are deceived going on deceiving.
2️⃣ because of of these false Grace messages, sin or loose living increases.
3️⃣ because theres so much craziness in the midst, hearts get hardened.
4️⃣ and the final piece that takes you right out of the will of God is your turning inward, putting up walls, getting defensive all while giving up on helping others as it becomes a dog eat dog world. You become selfish and incapable of loving others as yourself... that’s it game over!

The first domino fell when you let a perverted message from a wannabe religious leader into your heart. Most of these messages sound great, they can even be backed by biblical references, make you feel all warm and fuzzy but in the end they lack fear and action!!!

Jesus said if you deny me before men, I will deny you before the Father.

Most believe this to mean that you have to use your mouth and verbally deny Him and couldn’t fathom doing something so unimaginably crazy...

But then don’t think for one second to openly deny Him day in and day out by their actions!!!
