Faith was never meant to be only about where we go someday—it shapes how we live, love, serve, and build community right here and right now. In the second installment of our Stuff Jesus Never Said sermon series we examine how Jesus didn’t really talk about how to “get into heaven” after we die – but instead focused his teaching on how to live the way of his Kingdom right now.

Plus at Traditional Worship our Sanctuary Choir returns from their summer hiatus to lead us in song. At Modern Worship we’ll welcome two new members to our congregation and celebrate the baptism of their daughter. We give thanks for this family and rejoice as our church family grows!

After worship we’ll “chalk the walk,” filling our campus sidewalks with words and pictures of encouragement, school spirit, and lots of WUMC pride to welcome our Kid’s Morning Out families on their first day on Tuesday! (Chalk and sidewalks provided.)

This past Sunday, WUMC and the Wesley Campus Ministry at The College of William & Mary gathered for a special brunch welcoming William & Mary students back for a new academic year. It was a joyful afternoon of sharing a meal, making connections, and reminding students that there is a community here ready to walk alongside them.

With William & Mary right across the street, ministry with college students is an important part of who we are. Our partnership with Wesley helps us reach beyond the walls of the church to create spaces where students can find community, explore their faith, serve others, ask big questions, and know they belong.

We’re grateful for everyone who helped extend the table—and especially grateful for the students who joined us! As a new semester begins, we’re excited to see how God continues to grow the connection between Williamsburg UMC, Wesley, and our neighbors across the street.

A new season of ministry is beginning at Williamsburg UMC—and there’s a place for you!
