🐾🌿 Blessing of the Pets Sunday 🌿🐾

From the tiniest creatures crawling through the grass, to the birds that fill the sky with songs, to the pets that greet us with wagging tails and loving hearts — God’s creation is truly amazing. ❤️

Today we celebrated a special Blessing of the Pets, even the ones who have passed away, giving thanks for the furry (and not-so-furry!) friends God has placed in our lives. They remind us about unconditional love, joy, companionship, and the responsibility God gave us to care for His creation.

“God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.” — Genesis 1:31 ✨

John 15:13 “There is no greater love than to lay down ones life for ones friends”

The kids took a walking field trip during Sunday School to the Chad Edmundson Memorial. We discussed that he is true example of why we are able to worship freely and enjoy the freedoms that we have. ♥️🤍💙 the kids counted all the American flags that were just along our path from the church and back, 131 American flags within just a few streets! Blessed.

This morning during worship, we recognized our two high school graduates, Regan and Lillie. Both young ladies plan to continue their education in college, and we are so proud of them and all they have accomplished.

As you begin this next chapter in life, always remember that God is with you every step of the way, and your church family will continue to support and pray for you along the journey.

We wish you both nothing but the very best in the years ahead!

What a special Sunday School morning! 🎣💙

A huge thank you to all the dads, uncles, paps, and father figures who took the kids fishing today—making memories, sharing laughs, and giving the moms a little well-deserved break.

Today our Sunday School kids got their hands a little messy for a very meaningful reason! 🥨✨

During class, the children made Lenten pretzels to share with each member attending church today. As they rolled and twisted the dough, they also learned about the monks who first made pretzels long ago. The monks shaped the dough to look like arms folded in prayer, reminding people to pray during Lent.

The children learned that the pretzel twist represents hands folded in prayer and our cries to God. It was a simple but powerful way to remember that Lent is a season of giving, kindness, prayer, and sometimes fasting as we prepare our hearts for Easter.

We are so proud of these kids for learning, serving, and sharing with our congregation today! ❤️🙏

🏅❄️ Our Sunday School Kids Held the Winter Olympics! ❄️🏅

What an incredible morning at Zion! Our kids had a blast learning that following Jesus is like training for the Olympics — it takes focus, perseverance, and teamwork!

🥇 Speed Skating – Stay in Your Lane
We talked about how God wants us to stay in our lane — not copying bad behavior and not comparing ourselves to others, but focusing on what God has for us.
“Each one should test their own actions.” — Galatians 6:4

🥈 Snowball Toss – Throw It Away!
Sometimes we carry things we shouldn’t — anger, jealousy, bad attitudes. God wants us to THROW those things away!
“Throw off everything that hinders…” — Hebrews 12:1

🥉 Ice Balance Challenge – Stand Firm
In the Winter Olympics, balance is everything! We learned to stand firm when others tease us, stand firm when tempted, and stand firm in kindness.
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith.” — 1 Corinthians 16:13

🏂 Bobsled Team Challenge – We Win Together!
The most fun of all! Just like a bobsled team, we need each other to succeed.
“Two are better than one…” — Ecclesiastes 4:9
We talked about how we need our church, our friends, and Jesus — we need each other to stay strong!

And during snack time, the kids made their own “medals” out of vanilla sandwich cookies and fruit roll-ups 🥇🍪 — such a sweet ending to an amazing morning!

We at Zion are truly blessed with such an incredible Sunday School group.
