To be a visible presence of Christ
3. To foster and promote spirituality, leadership, and service We are single, married, mothers, professionals, stay-at-home moms and retirees. We are cradle Catholics and converts: some of us are searchers. Many of us stopped learning about our faith when we finished childhood religious education. Others have examined our faith closely through adulthood. Some of
us have well-worn Bibles, while others hear the Scriptures only during Mass. Several have never participated in a group like this before. If you are like us, the Catholic Women of the Chapel (CWOC) is also for you! CWOC is designed to open our hearts and minds so that we can more fully bring God into our lives, our families' lives, and into our community. We provide an opportunity for women to unite in prayer, to learn, share, and grow together in their knowledge of God, their Catholic faith, and the Church. CWOC gives us the opportunity to:
Strengthen our baptismal call to holiness;
Unite in prayer for each other, our community, and our world;
Support each other through the challenges of our lifestyle;
Develop the ability to become actively involved as Catholic Christian women. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, CWOC reflects a visible presence of Christ in our communities by fostering and nourishing women in spirituality, leadership, and service. During the school year we have weekly faith studies every Tuesday morning. We have evening programs: special events, guest speakers, Bible study, and book club. We've taken special "field trips" to shrines and museums. We support each other through Mercy Meals (meals for families with a family member hospitalized, deployed, etc.) and with our Prayer Circle.
