Rome Says it is Better for the World to Live without the Sun than without Sunday Mass

For centuries, Rome has promoted what Scripture calls the “wine of her fornication” (Revelation 17:2)—teachings and traditions that replace God’s truth with human authority. Chief among these is the elevation of Sunday as the “Sabbath,” a direct contradiction to the seventh-day Sabbath established at Creation (Genesis 2:2–3), reaffirmed in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:8–11), and upheld by Christ and His apostles (Mark 2:28; Acts 17:2). Today, the Catholic Church continues to advocate this counterfeit day of worship, calling Sunday observance an essential part of Christian life.

ChurchPOP, a Catholic news outlet dedicated to spreading the Catholic faith throughout the world, published an article on September 19, 2025, discussing the importance of observing Sunday and how this day is essential for spiritual life, family relationships, and restoring our commitment with the Lord. It even went so far as to claim that the world could more easily survive without the sun than without Sunday Mass. The article expressed the following:

• “Keeping the Sabbath holy is an important aspect of Catholic life!” [1]

• “Sometimes, it can seem easy to slip into our normal routines every day of the week.” [1]

• “Despite our very complex and busy modern times, we must strive to keep the ‘Sabbath Day’—Sunday—holy.” [1]

• “Since the days of the Apostles, the Church community has gathered together on Sunday to attend Mass.” [1]

• “It would be easier for the world to survive without the sun than to do without Holy Mass.” [1]

• “Of course, the best way to keep the Sabbath day holy is to attend Mass.” [1]

• “In our fast-paced world, sometimes Sunday becomes ‘catch-up’ day—of running to the store, doing laundry, and the like.” [1]

• “During the week, our relationships can get pushed to the side. Make time on Sunday to reconnect with loved ones!” [1]

By continually teaching that Sunday is the day of rest and worship, Rome is perpetuating the great deception warned of in Bible prophecy. Substituting Sunday for the true Sabbath is a direct challenge to the authority of God’s law. Revelation 13 foretells a time when the enforcement of this false worship will culminate in the “mark of the beast,” a sign of allegiance to human authority above the word of God.

The final crisis will hinge upon worship—whether people will obey the commandments of God or the teaching of men. As Rome continues to promote the wine of Sunday sacredness, many are being led to believe that honoring this counterfeit day is the true test of faithfulness. Yet Scripture declares that the seventh-day Sabbath remains God’s eternal sign of loyalty (Ezekiel 20:12, 20).

“The Sabbath will be the great test of loyalty; for it is the point of truth especially controverted. When the final test shall be brought to bear upon men, then the line of distinction will be drawn between those who serve God and those who serve him not. While the observance of the false sabbath in compliance with the law of the State, contrary to the fourth commandment, will be an avowal of allegiance to a power that is in opposition to God, the keeping of the true Sabbath, in obedience to God’s law, is an evidence of loyalty to the Creator. While one class, by accepting the sign of submission to earthly powers, receive the mark of the beast, the other, choosing the token of allegiance to divine authority, receive the seal of God” (Great Controversy, p. 605).

From Shutdown to Sunday Law: How Donald Trump is Driving the Project 2025 Agenda

The current government shutdown has become a pivotal moment in American politics, providing President Donald Trump with a powerful opportunity to accelerate the agenda of Project 2025. While once distancing himself from the plan, Trump is now openly embracing its architects, such as budget chief Russ Vought and Jonathan Berry, and utilizing the shutdown as a tool to dismantle opposing federal agencies, consolidate presidential power, and realign the nation’s governing priorities in harmony with Christian nationalist objectives.

Trump’s recent announcement that he is meeting with Vought to decide which federal agencies will be permanently cut demonstrates a shift in his strategy. What he once dismissed as “ridiculous and abysmal” has now become the blueprint for his second administration. By filling important administrative positions with Project 2025 authors—including Stephen Miller, Tom Homan, John Ratcliffe, Brendan Carr, and Jonathan Berry—Trump is ensuring that the faith-based initiatives of the Heritage Foundation become national policies.

On October 3, 2025, the Associated Press published the following, titled “Trump no longer distancing himself from Project 2025 as he uses shutdown to further pursue its goals,” and revealed the following:

• “President Donald Trump is openly embracing the conservative blueprint he desperately tried to distance himself from during the 2024 campaign, as one of its architects works to use the government shutdown to accelerate his goals of slashing the size of the federal workforce and punishing Democratic states.” [1]

• “In a post on his Truth Social site Thursday morning, Trump announced he would be meeting with his budget chief, Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies … to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent.” [1]

• “I know nothing about Project 2025,” Trump insisted in July 2024. “I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they’re saying and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them.” [1]

• “Trump has since gone on to stock his second administration with its authors, including Vought, “border czar” Tom Homan, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, immigration hard-liner Stephen Miller and Brendan Carr, who wrote Project 2025’s chapter on the Federal Communications Commission and now chairs the panel.” [1]

• “Heritage did not respond to a request for comment Thursday. But Dans, the project’s former director, said it’s been “exciting” to see so much of what was laid out in the book put into action.” [1]

• “It’s gratifying. We’re very proud of the work that was done for this express purpose: to have a doer like President Trump ready to roll on Day One,” said Dans, who is currently running for Senate against Lindsey Graham in South Carolina.” [1]

• “Since his swearing in, Trump has been pursuing plans laid out in Project 2025 to dramatically expand presidential power and reduce the size of the federal workforce.” [1]

• “They are now using the shutdown to accelerate their progress.” [1]

• “The moves are part of a broader effort to concentrate federal authority in the presidency, which permeated Project 2025.” [1]

By employing the mechanisms of Project 2025 to shrink the federal government and drive labor policy reform—particularly through the Fair Labor Standards Act—the federal government is positioned to enshrine Sunday as the nationally mandated “day of rest” for workers. Such a move would mark the legal enforcement of religious doctrine. The ongoing government shutdown, therefore, is not merely a dispute over the federal budget; it is being used as the staging ground to restructure the U.S. government in ways that will accelerate the Project 2025 agenda.

Trump’s embrace of Project 2025’s authors and agenda reveals the plan to empower Christian nationalism within the federal government. Bible prophecy warns that when civil and religious powers unite, liberty dies. America now stands at that very threshold—where the powerful arm of the state will be used to advance religious policies. Revelation 13 describes how church and state will unite to enforce a counterfeit worship in opposition to the law of God.

“Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance. Liberty of conscience, which has cost so great a sacrifice, will no longer be respected. In the soon-coming conflict we shall see exemplified the prophet’s words: ‘The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Great Controversy, p. 592).

The United States in Prophecy!!

I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. Revelation 13:11. {Mar 193.1}

One nation, and only one, meets the specifications of this prophecy; it points unmistakably to the United States of America. {Mar 193.2}

Here is a striking figure of the rise and growth of our own nation. And the lamb-like horns, emblems or innocence and gentleness, well represent the character of our government, as expressed in its two fundamental principles, Republicanism and Protestantism. {Mar 193.3}

The Lord has done more for the United States than for any other country upon which the sun shines. Here He provided an asylum for His people, where they could worship Him according to the dictates of conscience. Here Christianity has progressed in its purity. The life-giving doctrine of the one Mediator between God and man has been freely taught. God designed that this country should ever remain free for all people to worship Him in accordance with the dictates of conscience. He designed that its civil institutions, in their expansive productions, should represent the freedom of gospel privileges. {Mar 193.4}

But the enemy of all righteousness has designs upon God’s purpose for this country. He will bring in enterprises that will lead men to forget that there is a God. Worldliness and covetousness, which is idolatry, will prevail through the working of the archdeceiver, till the law of God, in all its bearings, shall be made void. {Mar 193.5}

I have been shown that Satan is stealing a march upon us. The law of God, through the agency of Satan, is to be made void. In our land of boasted freedom, religious liberty will come to an end. {Mar 193.6}

When our nation, in its legislative councils, shall enact laws to bind the consciences of men in regard to their religious privileges, enforcing Sunday observance, and bringing oppressive power to bear against those who keep the seventh-day Sabbath, the law of God will, to all intents and purposes, be made void in our land; and national apostasy will be followed by national ruin. {Mar 193.7}

God's Amazing Grace Brings Peace and Rest, April 3

The wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest.... There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. Isaiah 57:20, 21.
Sin has destroyed our peace. While self is unsubdued, we can find no rest. The masterful passions of the heart no human power can control. We are as helpless here as were the disciples to quiet the raging storm [Matthew 8:23-27]. But He who spoke peace to the billows of Galilee, has spoken the word of peace for every soul. However fierce the tempest, those who turn to Jesus ... will find deliverance. His grace ... quiets the strife of human passion, and in His love the heart is at rest.

For every soul struggling to rise from a life of sin to a life of purity, the great element of power abides in the only "name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).... The only remedy for vice is the grace and power of Christ. The good resolutions made in one's own strength avail nothing.

Every unholy passion must be kept under the control of sanctified reason through the grace abundantly bestowed of God. We are living in an atmosphere of satanic witchery. The enemy will weave a spell of licentiousness around every soul that is not barricaded by the grace of Christ. Temptations will come; but if we watch against the enemy, and maintain the balance of self-control and purity, the seducing spirits will have no influence over us. Those who do nothing to encourage temptation will have strength to withstand it when it comes; but those who keep themselves in an atmosphere of evil will have only themselves to blame if they are overcome and fall from their steadfastness....

Men and women are to watch themselves; they are to be constantly on guard, allowing no word or act that would cause their good to be evil spoken of. He who professes to be a follower of Christ is to watch himself, keeping himself pure and undefiled in thought, word, and deed. His influence upon others is to be uplifting. His life is to reflect the bright beams of the Sun of Righteousness.... Eternal vigilance is the price of safety.
