Luis is awake and doing well… please continue to pray for him as he begins his recovery. He will need to begin eating and drinking. This will be a new and difficult task. Pray for his healing and for his pain control and alimentation.

God’s Perfect Preparation

Sometime last year, the board of BIG HOPE made the decision to begin a nutritional program at our clinic after seeing an increasing number of malnourished children in the bateys. At the time, we believed we were simply responding to a growing need.

Little did we know, God was preparing us for Luis.

Because of this program, we were able to immediately provide Luis with a full box of nutritional supplements—giving him the support his body desperately needed just to survive. What we had planned months before became a lifeline at exactly the right moment.

This was truly a God-send.

Where Things Stand Now

Today, Luis is receiving ongoing care at our clinic under the direction of Dra. Glory Castillo, who is carefully coordinating his treatment. She is working alongside a maxillofacial specialist in the capital to ensure Luis receives the care he needs.

He is currently undergoing tests and treatments in preparation for what will be a critical upcoming surgery.

This journey will require multiple surgeries and extensive ongoing medical care. The road ahead is long, but we are committed to walking it with him.
