TRANSFIGURATION
Luke 9:28-43a
Have you experienced God's holy presence in your life? Probably you have had a moment at least once. I encourage you to look for holy places and look for holy moments, and look for the mystery of God. Once we have experienced God's holy presence, we will never be the same. And we will be ready to shine God’s light before others.
Three sleepy disciples, Peter, John and James, had the moment of God’s Holy presence on the mountaintop in today’s gospel lesson. God says to them, “This is my Son, my Chosen; listen to Jesus!” No excuses! Even though we are sleepy, tired or don’t feel like it, listen to Jesus, cling to Jesus, follow Jesus wherever he leads us, then God will find us and meet us in him!
If you have already experienced the mountaintop, don’t forget the valley below. We should remember that the main reason to climb the mountain is to go back down to the valley below.
When the disciples went back down to the valley with Jesus, they found all the problems of sickness, suffering, bitterness, and prejudice of humanity.
After experiencing of the Holy moments, We have to come back to our ordinary life to serve our church, community and the world listening to Jesus. May it be so for you and for me. Amen.

He is in the process of becoming a commissioned lay pastor through our Northern New York Presbytery. We are so excited to have him as the leader of Watertown Multi-Ethnic Community beginning this Spring.

Luke 5:1-11
If Jesus says so, we must try, even if we don't understand why, or it doesn't make sense.
As Jesus said, we have to enter into a deeper level of faith. How long will we stay in the shallow water and wander around the church, wasting our lifetime?
Of course, we should not act hastily to do something without Jesus' approval.
Nor, should we be late, or hesitate going when Jesus has already said, "go".
When the Holy Spirit touches our heart to go, just do it, just obey it. It is worth it.
Then, we will experience a great miracle; that which we really wanted. Faith is to do what Jesus tells us.
"Jesus said to Simon,, "Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch. Simon answered, "Master, we have worked all night long but have caught nothing. Yet, if you say so, I will let down the nets" (Luke 5:4-5). Amen🙏!

Luke 4: 21-30
The Good News is for all people and all nations.
Misunderstanding God's truth made people drive Jesus to the brow of the hill so that they might throw Jesus off the cliff.
If we open our hearts to the spirit, the Holy Spirit changes our fixed ideas into the truth. The truth is to love God and to love our neighbor.
If we say, "I love God" and hate our brothers and sisters, we are liars. Those who love God must love their brothers and sisters (1John 4:20-21).
It is time to accept people who I don't like or approve of. It is time to forgive people who hurt me in the past. It is time to reconcile with the other side. It is time to pray for those with whom we stopped conversation.
This message is for all Christians.
Let us see beyond our old fixed ideas and let us find not only God’s love and blessings but also our responsibility to be a blessing to others and to the world! Amen!

We thank Rev. David Bennett for preaching a great message to us from Luke 4:14-21, titled "Anointed to Proclaim", despite of the bad weather.
We were challenged as to what it might look today for us to proclaim the Release of the captives, Sight for the blind, and Freedom for the oppressed.
We also thank him for his selfless service as a WMEC coach and a mentor.
Later, we had the Annual Leadership Committee meeting of 2021. We also shared great meaningful moments last year with each other. God is great, all the time. Amen!

1 Corinthians 12:7: "To each is given the manifestation of the spirit for the common good."
Ephesians 4:12: (the gifts God gave were)" to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ."
We have been given wisdom, strength, health and power from birth to develop, train and practice any skills that we need to take care of ourselves and to serve others for the will of God.
Gifts and skills come in many ways. But the purpose of the gifts is not to set apart people by high and low status. It’s not to boast about or show off ourselves; rather, the gifts of the Spirit are for the good of the church community and are meant to help build up the church community.
If we want to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, we should learn, study, practice, and train our abilities to be used by God.
However, if we use them without love, they are nothing and become useless. It is truly right to use our gifts, talents, and abilities with Jesus' love to build up the community for the common good for the service of the Kingdom of God! How can we give our best and our gifts to God? Use them in love! Amen!
We invite everyone to our hybrid worship on Sunday at 12:30PM, (the Chaple) at 403 Washington St. Watertown, NY.
