Please be praying for the Pitts family, the firefighters involved, and all of the Abundant Life family. Adirondack Central recently started FCA in their schools and Pastor Brandon, his family, and many who attend Abundant Life have played integral parts in making that happen. Pastor Brandon is also a pillar in the youth sports community throughout Oneida and Lewis counties and does a lot for the communities!
Brandon Pitts
Church Family and Boonville Community,
This is my first opportunity to speak to you since being released from the hospital, and I want to begin by simply saying, on behalf of myself and my family, thank you.
On Tuesday, February 17, we experienced the unthinkable as our church building was tragically lost in a devastating fire. It has been an overwhelming few days, but in the middle of loss, I have witnessed something powerful - faith, unity, courage, and love.
First, I want to thank every single person who has prayed for me, for my family, and for our church. I have been released from the hospital and will be recovering over the next 1-2 months. Your prayers have carried us. We feel them. We are grateful beyond words.
I also want to publicly honor and stand with the unbelievable first responders who were present that day. Many acted with extraordinary courage, and several are still in the hospital recovering. We are praying for their complete healing and for strength over their families. We stand with them fully.
I am deeply thankful to the Adirondack Central School District for their generosity in allowing us to gather in the Adirondack High School Auditorium for the foreseeable future. Their kindness is a gift to our church and to our community.
This Sunday at 10 AM, we will gather together for the first time since the fire. And I want to personally invite not only our church family, but all of Boonville to join us. Boonville belongs to the Lord. Our building may be gone, but the Church is alive and well.
There will not be Kids Church for this first Sunday as we transition into the new space, but please bring your children. We want families together. Children’s Church will resume in the near future. This Sunday will be a powerful time for our entire church family and community to worship, pray, heal, and stand united.
While we have lost a building, we have not lost our mission.
We have not lost our faith.
We have not lost our hope.
The Church is not made of walls - it is made of people. And we are still standing.
In the coming days, we will begin posting updates on social media and on our website so that communication is clear and steady. If you have any questions at all, please reach out to us at [email protected].
I love you.
I am praying for you.
And I cannot wait for our church to worship together this Sunday at 10 AM. I may not be able to be present these first couple of weeks but know, I am with you.
With gratitude and faith,
Pastor Brandon
