My dad recently sent me this photo he found! Our family always did a summer beach vacation to the jersey shore, and as I got older it became more difficult to carry me onto the sand and keep me comfortable. My dad, ever the creative handyman, ordered some large inflatable wheels and hacked up a stroller to create the ultimate beach wheelchair. This was long before beach wheelchairs were readily available at many beaches, and I remember being stopped by so many families who were impressed by the creation. My dad probably missed a golden opportunity by not patenting his design, but all he cared about was making sure my brother and I had a great time at the beach.
