CHAPTER OF DIGNITYUSA
We are one of many city-based chapters in DignityUSA, the largest & oldest organization of LGBT Catholics in the nation. In accordance with www.dignityusa.org/purpose, we join the majority of American Catholics in respectfully dissenting from the institutional hierarchy, as we believe that:
- “LGBTQ Catholics in our diversity are members of Christ's mystical body, numbered among the People of God. It is our right, our privilege, and our duty to live the sacramental life of the Church, so we become more powerful instruments of God's love working among all people“
- “LGBTQ persons can express our sexuality physically, in a unitive manner that is loving, life-giving, life-affirming, and consonant with Christ's teaching".

Pope Francis used the words 'gay' and 'transgender' and met with LGBTQ+ people on many occasions. His impact cannot be underestimated.
