"if thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small." Proverbs 24:10 This verse spoke volumes to me because sometimes it can seem so much easier to give up in times of trials instead of fighting. We know that we have power in the face of adversity because of the promises that are made to us in the Bible. If we just give up we are not exercising the strength that we receive from the Lord. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 ,
" And he {Jesus} said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
"Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong."
Please try to remember these things if you are going through trials and feel like you don't have the strength to endure. You do have strength! The grace of Jesus Christ is sufficient! HIs strength is made perfect in your weakness because that's when you have to stop trying to do things your way and submit to God! That is why Paul said that when he was weak that is when he was strong. He realized that coming to Christ and surrendering to Him, completely trusting in His grace to carry him through is a greater strength than he alone could possess. Oh dear Father in heaven, I thank you for giving us your Word and I thank you for your grace and mercy throughout everything that we do. I thank you for your everlasting and unfailing love for us. I thank you that we can come to you as your children and that you as our heavenly father are there for us and will provide for us (Matthew 7:7-11). I thank you that we can cast all our cares upon you because you care for us (1 Peter 5:7). Thank you for giving us strength to endure anything (Philippians 4:13). I hope that everyone has a blessed and beautiful day and if you have any prayer requests I am more than happy to pray for/with you! May the peace of God be always with you.
