Today we celebrate the feast day of St. Catherine of Siena, Doctor of the Church, mystic, church reformer, truth-teller, and queen of telling medieval clerics what's what. πŸ”₯ May her directness and courage continue to inspire us, especially as we urge the Pope and the Vatican to "Be Not Afraid" and !

"But what will be remarkable about this visit is the optics: the sight of Mullally, the first female archbishop of Canterbury, standing shoulder to shoulder and kneeling in prayer with the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, which still maintains a male-only priesthood."

Sign and share our open letter to Pope Leo for Vocations Sunday!

Vocations Sunday, April 26, is the day the institutional church prays for an increase in vocations and WE call upon the church to recognize that women have sincere vocations to ordained ministry.

Given our Vocations Sunday theme of "Be Not Afraid," we drafted a letter to Pope Leo urging him to show courage and move forward to ordain women. We cited as our example St. Catherine of Siena, who courageously confronted popes and whose feast day, April 29, falls just days after Vocations Sunday.

Our open letter is a petition that we invite you to sign and share widely!

We know that at the grassroots level, all around the world, the people of God in the Catholic church long to see women in leadership and in ordained ministry.

St. Catherine of Siena famously said: "We've had enough exhortations to be silent. Cry out with a thousand tonguesβ€”I see the world is rotten because of silence." So - add your name to let the Vatican know that you are one of the thousands (and more) crying out for equality among all genders in the Catholic church!
