A message from my Tuesday class.

🧠 Did you know Kundalini Yoga teaches us about 3 different aspects of the mind?

In Kundalini Yoga, we talk about the Positive Mind, Negative Mind, and Neutral Mind.

✨ The Positive Mind looks for possibilities.
It sees opportunity, hope, and what could go right.

⚠️The Negative Mind isn’t necessarily “bad.” Its job is to protect you. It looks for risks, consequences, and what could go wrong.

⚖️The Neutral Mind is where the magic happens. It observes without immediately reacting. It listens. It discerns. It allows you to respond instead of simply reacting.

The goal isn’t to get rid of the positive or negative mind. The goal is balance.

🧘🏾‍♀️When we strengthen the Neutral Mind, we can pause... breathe... and choose our response with greater awareness.

✨Your thoughts are powerful. But you don’t have to be controlled by every thought that comes into your mind.

Happy Tuesday, peeps! ✨
Just pondering and sharing some thoughts on Kundalini Yoga — “the yoga of awareness” — and the power of noticing in practice.

When I teach, I like to begin with an intention for the day — the why. I offer the instructions, modifications, and anything needed for safety. When in person I ask students to look at me as I demonstrate, and then… close their eyes to begin.

I cue: Notice. Listen. Breathe. Feel.

And then I get quiet.

I want to create space for individuals to begin tapping into themselves. To listen inward. To feel. To notice what’s happening without someone constantly telling you what you should be experiencing.

Therefore creating a practice for developing intuition off mat.

Of course, there are times when more instruction is needed, depending on what we’re practicing. And yes there are those golden nuggets of wisdom that are worth sharing.

Sometimes, we just need to feel and to do that is with more silence.

There are already SO many voices, devices, programs, opinions, and agendas coming at us all day long.

Exhale that. 🌬️Take a moment to hear yourself.
We need that.

So I’m curious…

How do you feel when you practice?

Do you enjoy having an instructor continuously talk and guide you, or do you prefer moments of quiet so you can experience the practice for yourself?

Teachers — what do you think the balance is between instruction and creating space?

And if you’d like to come sit with me, join me for Sunny Sunday Kundalini Yoga. ☀️🧘‍♀️

Nandi Yoga & Efuas Baby are building back—full force—in this NEW MINI (not-so-mini 😉) nature space! 🌿💚

No one showed up to class today. It isn’t the first time I’ve had to show up for myself... so that’s exactly what I did. Yoga, meditation, and peace—just for me. 🙏🏾✨

Things happen. Just don’t let your nights rob your beautiful mornings. Finding the balance to honor both is possible. 💫

The Yogi & Capoeirista
Mother & Sun yoga practice for hips, hamstrings, lower back and sciatic nerve.

We also did pranayama for lung health and drank Mullen tea to finish it all off.

What a joy it was for my son to request my knowledge to support his capoeira practice!

We go again Friday morning! Let us know if you want to be down. One day we will host Berimbau meditations!

Yes!

Leave little miss do to much to those who enjoy all of her!

But remember to hold grace and be realalistic. No one is celebrated all the time!

However you CAN celebrate yourself how you desire with ego “the self” always in balance.

Enjoy this. Listen a few times and let in rest in your cells. Breathe it!
