Devotion: Stay on Track With God

As believers, we are on a journey with God. The Christian walk is not a random stroll it is a divine track, a path ordered by the Lord. God has a route for each of us, and when we surrender our lives to Him, we step onto that track by faith. But just because we started well does not mean we can afford to become careless. We must remain alert, obedient, and committed so that we do not drift off course.
The writer of Hebrews tells us to make straight paths for our feet. That means we must walk with intention. We cannot allow distractions, disappointments, offenses, or weariness to pull us away from the direction God has set. There will be moments when the journey feels slow, moments when others seem to be advancing faster than us, and moments when life throws unexpected detours in our path. Yet even then, the call remains the same: stay on track with God.
A train does not reach its destination by leaving the rails whenever it feels like it. It must remain on the track laid out before it. In the same way, we cannot follow every emotion, every opinion, or every opportunity that appears before us. We must stay aligned with God’s Word, because His Word is the track that keeps us from derailing spiritually. Psalm 119:105 reminds us, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” If we neglect the Word, we will lose our sense of direction.
Proverbs 4:25–27 tells us to let our eyes look straight ahead and not turn to the right hand or to the left. That means we must keep our focus on Jesus and not be moved by every distraction around us. Sometimes the enemy does not need to destroy us; he only needs to distract us long enough for us to drift. A distracted believer can become a discouraged believer, and a discouraged believer can become a stagnant believer. But when we keep our eyes on Christ, we remain steady even when the road is rough.
Paul asked the Galatians, “Ye did run well; who did hinder you?” That is a sobering question for all of us. What is trying to hinder us from staying on track? Is it fear? Is it unforgiveness? Is it compromise? Is it weariness? Is it listening to too many voices and not enough of God’s voice? Whatever it is, we must lay it down before the Lord. The journey is too important and the calling too precious for us to allow anything to pull us off course.
Staying on track with God does not mean the road will always be smooth. There may be gravel on the track, delays at the station, and moments when we must stand still and wait for God’s timing. But through it all, our responsibility is to remain faithful, prayerful, and obedient. We do not have to know every detail of the journey we just need to stay connected to the One who laid the track.
Today, let us ask ourselves: Am I still walking in the direction God gave me, or have I allowed life to pull me away? If we have drifted, the good news is that God lovingly calls us back into alignment. His grace is still available, His mercy is still speaking, and His hand is still able to guide us. Let us stay on track with God steady, focused, and faithful until we reach the destination He has prepared for us.

Prayer 🤲

Heavenly Father,
In the name of Jesus, we thank You for ordering our steps and setting us on the path of life. Lord, we confess that there are times when distractions, disappointments, and discouragement try to pull us away from the course You have marked out for us. But today we ask You to help us stay on track with You.
Give us spiritual focus so that we will not turn to the right or to the left. Let Your Word be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. When we become weary, strengthen us. When we are confused, guide us. When we are tempted to drift, pull us back into alignment with Your will.
Lord, remove every hindrance that is trying to derail our faith. Break the power of fear, compromise, offense, and unbelief. Help us to run our race with patience and to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. Teach us to trust Your timing, even when the journey feels long, and help us remain faithful in every season.
May our lives stay firmly connected to Your purpose, Your Word, and Your direction. Keep us steady on the track You have chosen for us until we arrive at the destination You have prepared. We give You all the glory, all the honor, and all the praise.
In Jesus’ mighty name,

Closing Encouragement

Stay on track with God.
Do not let distractions derail you, do not let delays discourage you, and do not let obstacles turn you back. The same God who set you on the path is the same God who will keep you on it.

Those who assist missionaries participate directly in the ministry of spreading CHRIST. Not everyone could or should go to the mission field; home or field, every worker matters. Those who stay and serve at home make the work in the field possible.

In GOD'S kingdom, every faithful worker receives the same generous reward.

Don’t Miss Your Station

Don’t Miss Your Station

A train journey is made up of stations. Some stations are brief stops, while others are major destinations. Each station has purpose. It may be the place where passengers get off, where others come on, where supplies are loaded, or where direction is confirmed before moving forward. But if someone is distracted, asleep, careless, or not paying attention, they can miss their station and end up far beyond where they were meant to stop.

In the same way, our walk with God is filled with divine stations—appointed seasons, moments of visitation, opportunities for obedience, times of growth, places of transition, and assignments prepared by God. These are moments when the Lord is calling us to respond, move, release something, receive instruction, or step into the next part of His will. But if we are spiritually asleep, distracted by the world, entangled in fear, or too comfortable where we are, we can miss what God is doing in that moment.

Jesus wept over Jerusalem because they “knewest not the time of thy visitation.” God had come near, yet they did not recognize the station they were in. They missed the moment because their hearts were not sensitive to the presence and purpose of God.

How many times do we do the same?
Sometimes the station is a call to repent, but pride keeps us seated.
Sometimes the station is a call to serve, but comfort makes us delay.
Sometimes the station is a season of healing, but bitterness keeps us bound.
Sometimes the station is an open door, but fear causes us to remain in the old place.
Sometimes the station is a warning to leave certain company, habits, or attitudes behind—but we ignore the signal and ride past the very place where God wanted us to change.

Beloved, we cannot afford to sleep through seasons that require discernment. We cannot afford to be so distracted by pain, people, offense, or the cares of life that we miss what God is saying. Every station in God has purpose. Some are for preparation, some are for correction, some are for promotion, and some are for transition. But whatever the station is, we must be spiritually alert enough to recognize it.

The good news is this: God is merciful. Even when we have been delayed, He still speaks, still calls, and still gives us opportunity to respond. But today is a reminder—don’t miss your station. Pay attention to the Holy Spirit. Be sensitive to the timing of God. Don’t ignore conviction. Don’t delay obedience. Don’t despise small beginnings. Don’t sleep through your season.

Your next station may be the very place where God wants to heal you, use you, restore you, or launch you into your next assignment. So stay awake in the Spirit, stay ready, and when God says, “This is your stop,” obey Him.

Prayer🙏🏾

Heavenly Father,
In the name of Jesus, help us not to miss the stations You have appointed in our lives. Open our spiritual eyes to recognize the seasons, opportunities, warnings, and visitations You send our way. Forgive us for the times we have been distracted, delayed, or spiritually asleep. Make us sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit so that we will know when to move, when to stop, when to release, and when to step into what You have prepared for us. Deliver us from carelessness, fear, pride, and disobedience. Let us not miss our moment of healing, our season of growth, or the assignment You have set before us. Keep us alert, obedient, and ready for every station on this journey of faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.🙏🏽

In the final judgment, the wrath of GOD will fall upon all sinfulness and rebellion against Him, and to those who chose to ignore or deny the evidence of GOD'S existence and character that is evident in creation.
There is no hiding from GOD'S verdict; sin always carries a penalty. (2 Corinthians 5:10).

SCP Daily Devotion

“Move When God Says Move”

Don’t stay parked in the place of delay

When the gravel is being cleared, we stand firm and wait on God.
But once the way is clear, the next instruction is not to remain stuck — it is to move forward in obedience.

“And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:”

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

Philippians 3:13-14
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,”

Devotion

There are seasons when God tells us to stand still, hold our peace, and trust Him while the gravel is being cleared. In those moments, the path is rough, the way is blocked, and we cannot force progress. We must wait while God removes what would trip us, derail us, or damage us.

But once God has done the clearing, we must not build a home in the waiting place.

Some of us become so used to the delay, the pain, the confusion, or the wilderness that even when God opens the way, we hesitate. Yet the same God who says “stand firm” also says “go forward.”

Israel stood at the Red Sea with fear behind them and uncertainty before them. But God did not part the sea so they could admire the miracle from the shore. He made a way so they could walk through it.

Sometimes God clears the gravel:

*by removing distractions,
*by exposing wrong attitudes,
*by teaching us patience,
*by healing our hearts,
*by shutting doors that were never for us.

And when the clearing is done, the question becomes:
Will we move when God says move?

We cannot remain at the station after hearing the conductor call our stop. We cannot keep rehearsing old pain when God is calling us into new obedience. We cannot keep looking behind when grace is pushing us forward.

So after standing firm, the next step is walking forward by faith.

Key Message

Stand while God clears the gravel.
Then move when God opens the track.

Prayer🙏🏾

Heavenly Father,
thank You for the seasons when You teach us to stand firm and trust You while the gravel is being cleared from our path. Thank You for protecting us from moving too soon and for removing what would have caused us harm. Now Lord, give us discernment to know when it is time to move forward. Help us not to remain stuck in fear, delay, disappointment, or comfort. Strengthen our faith to obey You when the way opens. Teach us to walk boldly into what You have prepared for us, trusting that if You cleared the path, You will also guide our steps. In Jesus’ name, Amen.🙏🏾

The world's opinion of you does not matter. At the final judgment, the sole consequence of importance is whether a soul is redeemed or condemned.
