Broken Trail

Broken Trail We were Created to Walk with God. Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good;And what does
the Lord require of you.

But to do justly,
To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God We were Created to Walk with God, but that Path was broken by sin. Jesus came and bridged the gap, repair the broken path..Our Ministry begins with a ministry to Men and seeks to change our culture by seeing families changed with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Looking at this powerful but simple reminder today, we remember that we have or and heard this passage countless times, but today, allow your heart and mind to refocus on these simple truths...

V. 1 The Lord is MY Shepherd; I shall NOT WANT!!!

The reason that we will never have needs, is because He is our personal shepherd, who will guide us. So, pt that in your mind now, regardless of what we are facing, any decisions we must make, I will not be in want, because He has already guided me to be in the proper place or position to NOT have a need.

Isiah 40:10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

REV 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Jesus is coming back, but we don't know when. Be prepared the Bible says. I get caught up in this world and forget this sometimes. Lord, help me remember that. There is a feeling like none other, and that is called being obedient to God, Simply doing what the lord has asked us to do.

Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

To be still does not mean to sit and do nothing, but rather as David Guzik states, "The idea is something like this: “As you know the glory and greatness of God, stop your mouth from arguing with Him or opposing Him. Simply surrender.”

The original word is in a phrase meaning to drop, relax, to sink down. Simply Surrender

Job 38:11 When I said,
‘This far you may come, but no farther,
And here your proud waves must stop!’

The Bible reminds us that it was God that created this place, and it is Him who controls it. What about storms? They come and sometimes they destroy, but we know that He holds the boundaries.

Psalms 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

Psalms 46:1- I started with Verse 10 with the thought that I needed a "pick me up" this morning. I read a devotion from Focus on The Family, that stated that we should love God for who He is, not just what He can do for us. That resonated in my soul. I began to ponder...

In the opening of that chapter, we begin reading in V. 1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song for Alamoth.

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.

G. Campbell Morgan says this; “Comment on this great song of confidence seems almost unnecessary so powerfully has it taken hold on the heart of humanity, and so perfectly does it set forth the experience of trusting souls in all ages and tumultuous times.” (G. Campbell Morgan)

It's like this was my first thought, "What is the deal with this opening. Who is the sons of Korah and this Alamoth person? I found this answer from David Guzik on BLB.com These sons of Korah were Levites, from the family of Kohath. By David’s time it seems they served in the musical aspect of the temple worship (2 Chronicles 20:19).

It is also stated that Alamoth could mean that it is a choir of singing girls, or a high pitched instrument. Either way, what spoke to me is this...

Let's start with Praise. Before I consider my thoughts, my needs, my issues, my problems, let me, and you focus on those words beginning with V. 1
1. God is our Shelter- He is our refuge, meaning shelter, from EVERYTHING! No need to mention any of my issues, let me just focus on that; He is my Shelter. Let me just step under this shelter.
* There are a lot of examples, but what comes to my mind is this; When we are camping and it is raining, I love to stand or sit under our awning. The rain comes, and we are not wet. We see the rain drip off the edges, but we are dry.
Before I consider our issues, just consider that. God is our Shelter!

2. God is our Strength- It means just what it says. Let's start with that. He is our STRENGTH. It really does not matter what we are facing, He is Stronger. Remember, this- I John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
* This word for strength carries the idea of Absolute.
* That is a strong word.
3. A Very Present Help- I don't have to sit and wait. He is my HELP right now.

See, today, we do not have to wait, we don't have to worry. He is our Shelter, He is our Strength, and He is this right now!

Trust in the Salvation of the Lord
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
Psalm13 How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever?
How long will You hide Your face from me?
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul,
Having sorrow in my heart daily?
How long will my enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider and hear me, O Lord my God;
Enlighten my eyes,
Lest I sleep the sleep of death;
4 Lest my enemy say,
“I have prevailed against him”;
Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

5 But I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
6 I will sing to the Lord,
Because He has dealt bountifully with me.

My thoughts- Sometimes in this life, we get to that point when we think God has abandoned us, but we know through His promise that He will never do that. I am not sure where this phrase, "Expect nothing, appreciate everything", started, but I like it. My life has been so blessed, so how can I expect anything more, yet everyday, my God continues in the blessing and I know that I must appreciate it and live and give forward.
David felt like it was over, but it was far from it. We can learn from that. Be patient, worship while we wait, and give thanks!

It's dark, and I am waiting for the sunrise. TC and I will have our own sunrise celebration beside our little creek. Until then, this is one of my favorite Easter songs.

The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore, with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3

In this passage of Scripture, Israel’s mourning and sorrow was turned into Joy. Why?

 Because of God’s Appearance. He appeared unto Jeremiah and He is here today, living in our hearts and souls. Luke 4:18, Jesus reminds us of the promises in the OT. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.
 Because of God’s Assurance. - We are loved with an Everlasting Love. Meaning a love that is indefinite, perpetual. Never ending. That Love never fails! That Love is never falters.
 Because of God’s Ability. He draws us into this relationship. He offers us this Love through His Son Jesus Christ.

Lord, help me to live today with the assurance that no matter what; I know you are walking beside me every step of the way.
