Friday, November 11 - Today we celebrate, honor, and pray for all the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine, and Navy veterans! This day marks the anniversary of the end of World War I on November 11, 1918.The date was originally called Armistice Day and was renamed Veterans Day in 1954. It is a federal holiday.

Saturday, November 12, following the 5 p.m. Mass! Over a dozen homemade chilis, cornbread, rice, desserts, drinks, pandesol, and all the fixin's! Only $5.00 per person, $3 for children 10 and under, and children under 2 and free.

During the filming of The Passion of the Christ, Jim Caviezel (playing Jesus) lost 45 pounds, was struck by lightning, accidentally scourged with a whip twice, leaving a 14-inch scar, had his shoulder dislocated, and suffered from pneumonia and hypothermia from hanging mostly naked on a cross for several hours outside. His body was so stressed and exhausted from playing the role that he had to have 2 open heart surgeries after the production! The crucifixion scene alone took 5 weeks of the 2-month filming time.

The Passion of the Christ is the highest-grossing rated-R movie in the US, of all time, at $370.8M! Worldwide it grossed $611M. Most importantly, it reached many souls around the world. Mel Gibson paid $30M out of his own pocket for the production because no studio would take on the project, and Jim Caviezel was warned not to take the role of Jesus because it would ruin his career.

Today is Jim Caviezel’s birthday, and he’s 51 years old. He proudly proclaims his faith in Christ amidst the godlessness of Hollywood.
Thank God for people like him who will step out to do what might not sound “fun”, but it gets out the Word of God and the story of His salvation of mankind. Happy birthday, Jim Caviezel!

I would be deeply honored if everyone on my timeline who believes in the power of prayer would stop what you're doing, just take a minute, and post this... but i know y'all won't I hope some will.
Lord we need you !!!!!! Please sweep across this nation and heal this land. Restore our strength, renew our minds, and banish everything that is not of You.

Being a supporter of Veterans. I'm going to make a wager, without being pessimistic, that out of my several friends, that less than 25 will take the time to put this on their wall. You just have to copy it from my wall and paste it to yours. Then type done on my wall.
I've done this for a friend to spread Awareness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We lose 22 Veterans a day. More needs to be done to help Veterans in need.
