So grateful to all who came out and helped us celebrate our 191st Anniversary and Homecoming this past Sunday, October 5.

What a week it has been! After a beautiful day celebrating Resurrection Sunday together, two mornings later a tornado warning sounded, followed by a massive, wind sheer that blew over our churchyard, sheering off several big trees and leaving our lovely peaceful grounds a debris field of hanging limbs, tall fallen trees, and jagged limbs and bark. Our building is okay except for some wind damage to the roof. We hold in prayer our next-door neighbors with their own damage, and especially those across the commonwealth who lost so very much more.
But in our immediate vicinity we give thanks for our next door neighbors who helped in so many ways--and especially to the good fortune of sharing a fence with Dave Leonard's tree service, who came over this morning along with the sunshine and cleared everything up for us, "....wanting to get right to you so that things will be ready for your people who come to Sunday service." How true that even as trouble will come, it also brings rich blessings in the goodness of people working together to help one another. Here are pictures of two days ago, and then the last one this afternoon with all the churchyard cleared off, ready to welcome all to celebrate the risen Lord, and in our experience this week, another little Easter for which we sing "Alleluia."
