Last year we reached out to the leadership of some of our area churches and together we put on an event called the “The Extreme Tour”. This free event blessed over 400 members of our community with free food, christian entertainment, and family activities. This year we have met with several of the leaders from last years event and would like to put on an event called “Week of Hope”. For one week,
we (the area churches) would bless our community and lift up the name of Jesus together. Our mission projects include (but are not limited to) an opening ceremony at the Art Affair where we promote the week of projects we are doing with flyers and water, closing ceremony with a youth sports day, community meal, local christian music, pool rental at the park, “cleanup our town day” free home repair, free oil changes, handing out water at local stores and at the Affair on the Square, we would like to do a local art contest with the local schools focused on serving and then have a presentation at Art Affair, grilling out for first responders, showing family movies during the week, free haircuts, free car washes, a youth unity service on wednesday night and multiple community meals. One way we could be extremely effective in showing the community Jesus, is by all of our churches wearing the same t-shirts during that week. The logo could be as simple as a cross or whatever we dream up. This simple act would show our community that the churches are unified in all of our mission activities! We would also like to see unity through church services during the week. Another idea was an opening and closing ceremony, where we could worship and celebrate together. I like big ideas because we have a BIG GOD! But the reality is, to make this event a huge success and bless the community, we would need your leadership and your church or organization to be the “hands and feet” of Jesus. Please consider joining our local churches and community organizations in partnering with us to win our community for Christ.
