Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the soul of Pope Francis rest in peace. Amen.

VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis’ funeral rites, like those for any pope or any Christian, are meant to “reinforce the hope and witness to the faith” that those who have been baptized in Christ “will rise with him to new life.” The prayer rituals for the formal recognition of his death April ...

Continuing the YLT Reflections for this Advent, Week Two.

"Love Came Down at Christmas" - Christina Rosetti

Love came down at Christmas,
Love all lovely, love divine;
Love was born at Christmas,
Star and angels gave the sign.

Worship we the Godhead,
Love incarnate, love divine;
Worship we our Jesus:
But wherewith for sacred sign?

Love shall be our token,
Love shall be yours and love be mine,
Love to God and to all men,
Love for plea and gift and sign.

Action Plan: Commit to more intentional prayer time, complete sincere acts of service, work to spread the Gospel.

The members of the YLT will pray for you, and they ask for your prayers too!

This Advent, the 2024-2025 Diocesan Youth Leadership Team has created posts and brief reflections about their own experiences with the season and what actions they plan on taking to bring their faith more to life. They developed these posts, quotes, and plans in small groups during our November meeting, and will be working together throughout Advent to keep their prayer and service commitments. They will pray for you, and they ask for your prayers too!

Advent Week One: “In those days Judah shall be safe and Jerusalem shall dwell secure; this is what they shall call her: ‘The Lord our justice.’” Jeremiah 33:16

Action Plan: To seek and give active forgiveness and reconciliation, especially to friends and family members, and commit to small but significant acts of service to bridge gaps and help those in need.
