Life-long connections with Orthodox youth across state & jurisdictional lines OYMT consists of high school students from multiple Orthodox parishes in CT, NY and NJ. We will be participating in a youth mission project every July, traveling to Appalachia to do mission work with Appalachian Service Project (ASP). The Orthod

ox Youth Mission Team will fundraising throughout the year to cover the expenses associated with the trip. We will prepare for our work by serving as a team on a day-long repair project at our respective churches. We also participate in bible studies, sensitivity training and construction training sessions to ensure that the work we perform is done right and will have a lasting impact.

This week, Redhead re-mudded, sanded, and painted drywall, then installed and painted baseboards and quarter round.
They took out the old shower-bath, and pulled up water damaged subfloor and insulation.

This week, Chocolate Boo Book removed the shower/tub combo, leveled the sub floor, and renovated the porch.

Fiery Topaz, led by the incredible leadership of Father Mircea, tackled the demolition and subsequent renovation of a whole wall which was previously missing insulation. Additionally they renovated the kitchen, adding cabinets and repainting the walls. (-written and shared by Joachim Bushelli)

Green Mango 1 and 2 were both working at one house, but on different projects.

This past week, Green Mango 1 worked inside. They readjusted foundation joists, installed new insulation and subfloor, and started putting in the flooring. They also began to dig a ditch to control water runoff.
Green Mango 2 worked outside on the roof! They installed fascia and put plastic covering and purlins on the roof to prepare for metal roofing installation.

Diabolical Nightjar started the week finishing drywall and framing doors. They then helped at another crew’s site trench project where they completed a 30 foot drain trench to stop water flowing under the house. Finally, they finished the week painting at their job site. They were able to make strong connections as a team, with their homeowners, and Fat Boy the dog.

This past week, Chaco Chacalaca dug 17 post holes and installed the frame and majority of deck boards for a front porch and ramp. Plans changed several times, but this crew was flexible, completed work, and made a beautiful relationship with their family!
