For both versions of our Journey Begins Participant Versions (9 or 12 Session), we are still in process of having them printed with our new covers. We're working with the printer to move as quickly as possible, but if you have a need, text/call Darin at 269.389.9491 and he can provide you with the 1st two chapters of whatever guide version you need on PDF.

Ever think "hmmm, I know someone that could use a Journey guide?" You probably did, right? "Dude, that guy needs a Journey group, stat!" :-) Seriously, if it feels too forward to just buy someone a manual, you can always get them a gift card (in amounts of $25, $50, $75, $100, $250, and $500).

Big thanks to our friend, Matt Gordon, for doing some great artistic work on some new manual covers.* We are gradually updating our manual covers, as inventory gets lower on older prints. Our first is The Journey Begins 12 Session Participant Guide. ETA for printing to be finished is the 2nd week of January 2026. Here is some helpful information on holiday shipping of manuals (we will send this out on our larger newsletter email also likely tomorrow). One thing to note is that we are pretty low on The Journey Begins - 12 Session Participant guides. If you want to email Darin at [email protected] or text/call at 269.389.9491, he can help with any decisions on that during the holidays. We are placing a larger order with our printer to make sure that we have the volume necessary for the early 2026 groups.

Our tag line on our website says "Walking with the wounded and training others to do the same." It is very common to have people attend the Journey and expect to just get a little training to care for others, but a curious thing happens in groups...those who didn't know they have a story uncover a hidden story. It may not be overt, big T trauma, but it is still an uncovering that invites them to allow others to care for their wounds. Within this very surprising process, they are also getting a tactile, hands on experience of what a Journey group feels like. It may be an unintentional foray into "story work" for themselves, but it is difficult to lead others where you have not venture before. So, whether you are the wounded in need of care, or those who want to care for the wounded, you will have a very unique large and small group experience at The Journey at Maranatha!

What are the lies that you believe about yourself or others? What does it cost you to live in shame? What does it cost others when you choose to hide?

Our own stories of trauma, abuse, and betrayal often leave us with a distorted sense of identity, believing false messages such as, “I’m not enough” or “I’m worthless or dirty or unwanted.” These false beliefs keep us hiding in shame, hindering our ability to live fully in the freedom of who God created us to be.

The truth is, in Him, we are infinitely loved, fully accepted, and eternally redeemed.

What is a Journey Group?
A Journey group offers a safe and confidential small group setting where participants are invited to share the stories that have shaped their lives. In Journey Groups, trained leaders model the care and compassion of Jesus as each member is encouraged to examine the people and events that have left them in need of healing. It is within the trust and safety of the group where many participants boldly embrace the truth and the healing power of Jesus.
